Getting Something Done in Haiti…
I spent three hours running around Port au Prince looking for evangelistic materials, trying to confirm some scheduled items for a last few days, working on solar panels, stopping by the local “Home Depot” for toilet parts (which they didn’t have), dodging scrawny dogs and massive UN trucks, etc. It’s like nailing jello to a tree here….can’t get anywhere quickly or efficiently.
Team just left for the IDP camp and Jesus film showing….thrilled that they get to go. The experience is always a treat. We’re going to try and visit an IDP camp in the morning and follow up tonight’s Jesus Film showing. We’ll send about 30 folks with our Haitian students as translators. Should be fun. Friday we’d like to do an English Camp for other Haitians at the CCC Hqtrs in Port au Prince—not sure it will work or not. Students in exams now. Saturday, Marc Compere is lecturing on solar power at a nearby university, set up in a big field, classes meeting under tents. Crazy.
Trying to get everyone to post something….told them they’d have to sleep in tents on the Hilton roof in Miami if they don’t. Threats don’t seem to work well, however.
Just started to rain–hopefully it wont interrupt our Jesus film showing and IDP distribution.
