July 17- Joanna Kelley
Tonight we had a fantastic and rousing game night with all of the small group teams in our beloved Restaurant–lots of whooping and cheering going on! [And by the way, I give a shout out to the cooks for making such delicious meals!!] I must admit though that some of my thoughts still linger on yesterday’s events.
Going to the village and simply spending quality time with the people of Chambrun was a HUGE treat. Playing with the kiddos and doing silly charades in order to communicate with others was such a blessing. I think the thing that struck me the most was watching the Jesus [Jezi] Film sandwiched between my two new Haitian friends. Their response to seeing Jesus do miracles and raising from the dead was not just “ooo–ahh” but applause and cheers! And this was from everyone! I want to rejoice greatly like them!–for Jesus, for the little things God does every day for His glory. My Haitian brothers and sisters in Christ are such an example to me and I am eager to see what God does on our 4th day in Haiti! Time for a cold shower and a night under the stars!
