July 2- Working together
Hi, my name is Cory Madigan. I will be starting med school at The Ohio State University in the fall. I was asked to briefly share about our team. A few nights ago, I read Philippians, including the part where Paul instructs their church to radically love one another: “…make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than ourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others,” (2:2-4).
Our team of 40 students and staff (in addition to our fellow Haitian students) has exhibited these verses more than any other group I have ever been a part of. People readily jump at the chance to clear each others’ dishes, clean showers, and pray for one another. For the past week and a half, I have not heard one word of complaint. It is a complete joy to serve alongside people who are so committed to serving God. Please continue to pray that God would give us His Spirit and power to obey these verses for the next two weeks.
