June 23- Getting to work

Today was our first full day on the property and a taste of things to
come. About 15 Haitian college students arrived at 8:30am to join us
for breakfast. It was so great to finally meet them. We took our time
after breakfast getting to know them, asking what they study, and
beginning to learn their native language Creole.

For the day we split up into groups to take on projects around the
property. There were students building bunk beds, digging ditches,
clearing brush, picking up trash, unloading containers of supplies and
so much more. In the afternoon we packed relief kits to take to the
IDP camps tomorrow. The relief kits include food from “Kids Against
Hunger” and personal hygiene products.

In the evening we had our first worship session together as a team and
then broke up into small groups to share our personal testimonies of
how we heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and how it’s transformed our
lives.

Meeting the Haitian Students for the first time…  then it’s off to work, preparing kits to hand out at the IDP camps.

The finished project!
