Junior and Company

Afternoon coffee with the grad students was a small enjoyment that distracted me from the heat, dust, and sweat.

The man sitting closest to me is Junior. Next to him (going left) are Mackenzie, Robertson, and Marjorie.

Junior and Robertson’s earthquake story are similar because they were both in the grad student area of the basement when their 4-story building collapsed on them.

Junior has passion as part of his natural personality. But that passion has been strengthened by his narrow escape from death. His earthquake experience did not make him cower or leave him defeated. It gave him purpose and renewed drive.

Junior is completing his Masters now and will begin his Ph.D. in France next year.
