Markets, Lakes and Flamingos

The public markets are very similar to those I’ve seen in Nigeria and Mexico. Many, many vendors with home made brooms to bars of Dove soap, Nutella, and Folgers coffee.

There is a large saltwater lake about a mile down the road. The kids walked all the way down the road with us, holding hands. One girl or boy on each side. The kids played in the lake and scared the big flock of wild pink flamingos away (didn’t know there were pink Hatian flamingos…?!?)
