Campus Crusade for Christ - The Campus Ministry

Seth, Haiti First Sunday

this will be my first post, and there is honestly too much to mention. hearts are being exposed to our Father and changes from physical to spiritual are sweeping through the community. i feel so small in it all and so honored to be apart of it.

God’s glory is our focus and the only focus. worship with the locals was vibrant this morning, and the service flew by even at 2 1/2 hours long! our bee infestation was taken care of by a local security guard, who proceeded to remove them beginning with his bare hands…

today we also joined a parade of children from the local village as we visited the local salt water lake. it was relaxing and interestingly enough a flock of flamingos were there to greet us. back to this journey as a whole; i don’t know how to explain the feelings and emotions flowing through this compound even after a 1/3 of our trip has been completed. one thing i will express is this: there is poverty, yet are these people truly poor? they display a resolve to survive, unending hospitality, and high spirits unlike anything back at home. haiti is a nation and it has its problems, but so is america… hopefully people will see haiti not for its lack in worldly riches but for its richness in spirit and potential for God’s glory. is that not the only wealth that lasts?
