A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

Today as I sit at my computer, I shed tears for young people who are no longer with us. For all who grieve, I
grieve with you. This tragedy affects
us all. My prayer is that God will comfort you. Stay close to Him and to
your friends. It is somehow easier to
bear when you have someone who shares your loss. A Grandmother from Mississippi.

Our precious brothers and sisters in Christ:
As the Youth Pastor at the Chinese Christian Chruch of Greater Albany, I want you to know that our youth, their families and many other followers around the country have been and will continue to lift you and the entire VT Campus up to our gracious Heavenly Father.
We’re already certain that, out of this, God is going to raise up an “army” of disciples at VT in response to the work of the evil one.
May God’s love, peace and presence surround and fill you with the joy of knowing that He is still in control and, out of the ashes of this gut-wrenching experience, His glory will shine brighter than ever before.
In the assurance of His love,
Phil Woodrow

Dear Friends at Virginia Tech,
My heart is broken for you all and I wanted to let you know that I’ve been praying continuously since I learned from a co-worker what was happening on campus. I will certainly continue those prayers on Thursday and well beyond. I also requesed prayer from my team and my leaders. Feeling inadquate to help, I’m sure prayer is the only immeidate thing (and I’m sure the best thing)that we can do to support you. Please know you are being lifted up and that we are pleading with God to wrap His arms around you and provide the peace and healing that only He can.
I also hope it encourages you to know that in a business luncheon I attended today, nearly 500 business people, government agency employees, and political figures began the invocation by praying for you. You are clearly top of mind for us all.
April 18th, 2007 at 4:59 pm
Definitely praying for you all. I keep thinking that it is only the love of Christ and the foundation on the Lord which never shakes that will get us through deep grief.
April 18th, 2007 at 5:02 pm
To Cynthia and Paul and all the dear ones at VT - our prayers are with you and we are confident in God’s presence with you. We cannot comprehend this sad event, but commit all you are doing for the students, faculty, staff, administration and extended VT family to the Lord. God bless and keep you.

I am from Saint Louis, Missouri. As soon as I heard the news, I began to pray and will continue to pray for those affected by this tragedy. Also, a co-worker and I have joined together in prayer; and I will share this information with her. I will also pray that the Lord will give you wisdom as you seek to comfort those who are in unimaginable grief and pain. May the Lord send his grace, comfort, and peace in extraordinary ways through the Campus Crusade Staff there at Virgina Tech and throughout the nation. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.

There is a time to mourn and a time to weep. This is the time we mourn and weep with you. Such a tragedy. May God bless each and everyone of you.
April 18th, 2007 at 6:10 pm
After this tragic incident happened, I’m sure everyone has lots to say. I hope people don’t start to be racist, because I heard some students started to discuss about the race of the killer. I’m hoping that people are more aware and take others seriously. When someone is depressed, anxious, or in any emotional distress, people around him or her would take it seriously. Offer help or offer to seek resources.
Let us pray for one another seriously, because we’re created and loved by God. We can prevent many people from suicide or killing others. What do you think?

Greetings from Tacoma, WA.
My prayers are not only for those who are grieving the loss of loved ones and friends, and those who are walking with a friend or loved one through the recovery process, but also for members of the Korean community who are feeling an overwhelming sense of shame and responsibility for what happened. Our hearts also go out to you, and our prayers for healing and restoration go to God on your behalf. May He be glorified in the demonstration of unity in the Body of Christ, and the outpouring of love to those who do not yet know Him.

…..what can I say??? My heart goes out to all that have lost a loved one and I pray that God will reveil himself in a special way to all the families…..it really shows me that we all need to be ready to leave at anytime and it lets my heart burn even more to reach the lost people around me with the good news from God, that wants to bless us with eternal life. Let our hearts be passionate to reach the people with Gods love on a daily basis.

Please know that I am praying for the entire Virginia Tech community and family and friends. This tragedy feels especially personal to me because I’m a Tech graduate. In fact, Campus Crusade there was instrumental in my coming to Christ in Feb 1979 (I graduated in ‘78). Thank you for being there for the students and staff. May the Lord use this horrible incident to draw you all closer to Him and be an even stronger warrior for Him.
God bless you all.

28 years ago, I lived on campus and participated in CCCI prayer teams, Bible Study and Summer Projects. I have sat insulated for these many years not thinking this kind of tragedy could not possibly touch this ministry and yet in this time it has happened. Lord God of Glory and utmost love, prepare and strengthen the hearts of the campus staff and students at VT for what has happened and what is to come. Bless them as they go forward as Warriors in your Name.

Dear Heavenly Father
Thank you for all the times of Joy that you have given with those that are no longer with us on this earth. Father i ask that you bring comfort and peace to those that grieve the loss of loved ones to this tragedy. Father help us to forgive the one that has caused so much pain in our lives. Help us to celebrate life rather than grieve it. It says in your word that ‘Hatred stirs up strife, but Love covers all offenses. (proverbs 10:12)’ So Father help us to Love because Love is the greatest or all and You are a God of Love.
All this I pray in the Powerful Name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
May God Change your world today.

Our staff has been burdened and praying for all of those those impacted by this tragedy.
We saw how God moved through our community as a result of the Columbine High School tragedy and how the effects rippled throughout our state, nation, and world. His Holy spirit rides the ripples!
The tragedy at V. T. impacts so many more communities all at once and we will pray that the many simultaneous ripples will carry with them the hope of God’s faithfulness and love.
I appreciate the ministry of Campus Crusade. Thanks for mobilizing the faith of so many!

I too, have been praying for the entire VT campus as well the families of the the victims. This is such a horrific tragedy that it is hard to wrap my mind around it. I am an elementary teacher in Alleghany County, Virginia. My students range in age from 4 to 10…I teach computers. One of my 5th grade classes used maroon and orange markers to paint VT’s on their faces (and mine!) to show support for all at Tech. They want to do something but don’t know what. I told them that in this time of grief we are all Hokies. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My family and I are praying for all the families and friends of those who were killed or wounded in this terrible tradgedy, and we will join in the special time of prayer on Thursday. We can’t comprehend the horror and loss, but we know the One who can, and He is able to sustain you even in this. There is no evil so large that God’s purposes are not larger still. Even if His purposes are beyond our finite minds to comprehend, we can trust in the One whose thoughts and ways are higher than ours.

our prayer is that all the victims is this tragedy be blessed with a great deal of faith to help in the healing process. We all grieve with you. Let’s hope some of the gun laws will change. No person under the age of thirty should be free to purchase arms of any kind. We should do all in our power to promote peace, not violence of any kind. Show compassion for one another, no matter what others look like. Now the media will milk all the pictures of the killer, we do not neerd to see all this stuff, it in itself can be harmful to all of us. I speak from the bottom of my heart because I feel overwhelmed with it all for the families involved.God bless us one and all

Our Grandson is a VT resident student. He came home to his parents last night and spent some quality time with them grieving with tears and prayer. Today he went to a mall with his VT shirt on. Numerous people approached him to offer their condolences. He was struck by the sincere care these people showed.
This tragedy has effected the nation, inspiring tenderness toward each other, and to God. Could this be the begining of a national revival? We are examining our own hearts.

May we see a national revival start with the college students of our nation, as many are calling on God at this time.
April 18th, 2007 at 9:36 pm
And at the end of your prayer for these students and their families - follow it with a prayer for the soldiers and sailors and their families for facing tragedy as a way of life, and the police and the firefighters who put their lives on the line every day for our safety, and then a prayer for the leaders of our country for the courage to lead us with the strength and power of God leading them.
For only with God in the lead will we all survive together.

Our 7th and 8th Grade girls have been meeting and studying through Ben Jennings’ book on “The Arena of Prayer”. Tonight, we put what we have been learning into practice as we prayed for the families affected by the VT tragedy. We prayed for God’s comfort and peace to surround the families and friends who have lost loved ones and for those who survived. God’s blessings were asked to be poured out and for His protection as well.
May God work through this situation and draw others to Himself for the strength they need. And may His servants be empowered to minister to those in need.

There is nothing I can say at a time like this, but there is one thing I can do and that is to pray. I do not know you, but God does. He knows your every need and I pray that He will meet it. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I am sure He has a plan to make something good come out of this that was meant for evil. I hope you are blessed by the millions of prayers people are sending your way. There is power in prayer. “Look to the stars, to the greatness God has. Therein lies comfort, therein lies strength. Therein lies peace.”

I will be praying. Also forwarding an email from familylife to my family and friends. There are several people in my family who are not Christians but this has caused me to be bold in my words -mostly with comforting words of scripture. 2 cor 4:8 “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed… Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
God will not abandon or destroy us. There is a hope and a future for us…

My heart just aches for the grief you are engulfed by right now. I was a teacher in Fairfax County–where the shooter and several of the victims are from–during 9/11, the anthrax scare, and the sniper attacks. There’s been so much heartache over the years.
Please know that all of the students, faculty, staff, and families affected are ever-present in our thoughts and prayers right now. I will be joining in the day of prayer tomorrow from Honolulu, Hawaii. May God’s peace surround and sustain you through this.

My heart and prayers go out to all who died. Even Cho. The thing that tears my heart up the most is that if this kid would have came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ this never would have happened. I pray that this is a wake up call for all half-hearted Christians and to people who do not know Jesus Christ as their PERSONAL Lord ans Saviour…. We are not gureented the next minute. I pray even now at my computer that the Christians would stand up and be bold and wittness the their fellow classmates and at the same time share the joy of Christ to the lost. How many died that did not know Jesus? Thats what breaks my heart. I have lost family and know the pain.. but can rejoice in knowing I will see them again one day in heaven. Christians……. STAND UP. I love each and every one of you and will be praying for you.. ROMANS 10:9 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your HEART that God raised Him from the dead YOU SHALL BE SAVED!!!!

My prayers, and I’m sure those of my co-workers whom I’m about to send an e-mail to, will be lifted for all the families impacted by this terrible tragedy. The name of my workplace prayer chain, GILAIC…God Is Large And In Charge, says it best!
No matter what evil is thrown our way, we have a God who is still speaking in this time. The nails couldn’t hold Christ to the cross nor can this tragedy silence the voices of believers around this world! May the families who are grieving rest in the palm of the Almighty’s comforting hand. May they know there are sisters and brothers in extended communities holding them up, bearing their pain, and loving them through.

Lancaster PA knows all too well the tragedy of lives taken before their time and there is a deep forgiveness through a mighty God. One prayer seems so inadequate, but one prayer to a powerful God CAN and DOES change lives forever. All things happen for a purpose, we must believe that and if for only one person to find Him through this, it was worth all the pain and sorrow. God is working, God is here and He hears, and sees every last tear and heart that is broken from this situation. I am praying for all the families and especially for the Mom and Dad of the shooter because they need to know how much God truly does love them and cares for them… this is a tragedy but out of that comes triumph to be better, to love more and most importantly to care about other individuals who may have the same hurt inside and will now take the time to be a true friend.
My heart is broken for all of you please know we are praying for you all in Lancaster, PA.

I was very shocked by the massacre on Virginia Tech. campus this week. It was very sad to hear that so many innocent people died by a malicious shooter. I was so distressed by the cruel story that I could not read the whole story of Molly in this web-site. I pray that God would give His best strength and abundant mercy to all who have heard this sad news, especially to those who are friends and family members of the victims of this tragedy, so that they may testify God’s love in the future.

On behalf of the Korean Church, I offer our sincere sympathy to the families and citizens of Blacksburg, Virginia, and indeed all Americans, for the terrible tragedy that has befallen the students and professors of Virginia Tech University, and the whole community.
I do not doubt that this is the deadliest school shooting incident in the history of the United States. Citizens of the US are surely extremely shocked, angered and grief‐stricken over the tragic loss of life and the injuries and trauma suffered.
When we received the news that this disaster was inflicted by a Korean student, all Korean society and the churches felt even deeper shock and grief. We can find no words with which to console the families of the dead and injured.
Both the Korean churches and American churches, sometimes separately, often together, have been working to build a community of reconciliation and peace in diverse societies. We do not want our all efforts for peace to fail. Through this tragic event, we recommit ourselves to teach young people a peaceful way of thinking and a peaceful way of life.

By the time the clock strikes that sacred 7:00 hr tomorrow evening, most of you will be trying to get some sleep. Thus i will be praying all who have been touched by this heartbreaking event will be blessed with a much needed nite of restful and peaceful sleep. We are all hyper-vunerable when our physical bodies are so ravaged by chaos and shear exhaustion.”These things I spoken to you that in me you might have peace. In this world we will have trouble…but He has overcome the world.” (Jn.16:33) And Praise God those who are His, are blessed with a “…peace of God that surpasses all understanding, and will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Ph. 4:7) Blessed sleep to you all my brothers and sisters, and believe the TRUTH, the Promises of God’s Word….until He comes! We have been and will continue to pray for everyone at VT, and beyond. God knew this was going to happen. He is bigger than this. He will find a way to draw people to Himself, and to heal the hurting. I always take comfort in knowing that things don’t surprise God. They do make Him very sad, but we don’t surprise Him.
I am sure there will be an incredible sadness over you all, for some time. But slowly the pain will ease. It will be interesting to begin to hear about the amazing things our God is going to do through this tragedy. Please take care.

We have been praying and will continue to do so fervently for many days to come. Thank you for this wonderful outreach to Christians all over the world to pray for those involved in this tragedy. PLEASE don’t forget to pray for the thousands of South Korean Christian students who are studying in U.S. universities. We have received an e-mail from our “adopted” Korean family who are studying and teaching at Penn State and they are very afraid of repercussions on the S. Korean community. They are even afraid to let the children play outside or go out to dinner. The Korean news agencies (via the Web) are broadcasting news that has caused them to fear discrimination or even more. Do PRAY for them all. God can turn this tradegy into a harvest of souls for His glory.

This is truly a tragic week in the history of the United States. A young ladie, formerly from Illinois lost her life in this tragedy. She was the daughter of a VT professor and a niece of a Southern Baptist Preacher in Sterling, IL. Also another SBC student who participated in campus outreach with the VT Baptist Collegic Ministries lost his life as well. My heart goes out to all the students, faculty and families at VT. May the Lord give you peace beyond measure durin this time. I will send a message to the Baptist Collegic Ministry leader at Illinois State University and have her organize a prayer vigil as well. Myself, my family and my church will be in prayer as well.

I am praying God’s will be done and he be glorified through this evil. I pray lives would be changed and God would get full glory through what the evil one meant for evil only. God is good all the time and he will take this situation and turn for his glory. My prayer is for peace and strength and comfort for all of America and this would be a turning point for America Christians to see they need to not set back and be quiet while America goes down but would begin to take a stand for purity and morals and most of all God first and foremost in our country and especially the media and entertainment industries and see the filth on television through music, etc. which is filling our young and old peoples minds. We need to take a stand for Jesus and be Christ filled.
We set back and do not want to offend anyone but yet we see the outcome of setting back and doing nothing. To God be the glory.

As the events at Virginia Tech unfolded My mind was drawn to my daughter who is currently looking looking at colleges to attend in 2008. Because of where we are in that process it was very unsettling for me to realize that she could be at school and something like that could happen to her. The Holy Spirit reminded me of how God has promised in his Word to be with us and give us His peace in the midst of any “storm”. He is in us “to will and to work His good pleasure”. May God help us to be His witnesses to a world where His peace is needed at this tragic and opportune time. In Christ, Jim S.

We also thank God for the Supreme Court decision on the partial birth abortion ban. He is indeed a great god.

I am a Creative Memories Consultant. I teach people how to be their family historian. how to remember their lives with journaling and pictures. I facilitate a wonderful workshop called Faithbooking that teaches how to look for our God stories and then journal them. The bible uses the word remember 292 times. God wants us to remember how He has worked so awesomely in our lives and then pass them down to the next generation. Do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and your children’s children.” Deut. 4:9 There are hundreds of God stories from this horrific tragedy, but God is good and He will triumph over evil when we call upon His mighty name.

Its hard to find words to express our sorrow over what has happened in Virginia. So rather than struggle in a human way, we can only say that you will all be in our hearts and prayers and then allow God to move his spirit amongst you as only He can. The Lord will always find a way to bring good out of evil and we must put our trust in Him alone.

April 19th, 2007 at 9:32 am
Since this tragedy has occurred I have prayed for the families of those who have lost their loved ones, for those who have children who are students there who are enduring unspeakable horror and grief, for the staff and administration of this university who have lost so much. I must admit that while I pray I am at a loss for words and yet I find myself asking for God’s comfort, peace, mercy, grace and healing. It is so hard to comprehend evil, easy to blame the availability of guns, etc., rather than seeing how evil the human heart is without the redemptive work of Jesus Christ; how evil my heart would be if not for Jesus.
You all will continue to be in my prayers. May the God of all comfort and peace be our comfort and peace. Amen.
April 19th, 2007 at 9:34 am

I pray that God will use this horrible tragedy to bring people to Himself just as He did with the death of his Son. I pray that He will lift up those to minister to sick, lonely individuals like Cho. As a parent and grandparent, I can imagine the grief and sorrow felt at this time by the families of these dear souls and by the parents of this tortured young man that caused all this grief.

My son is an engineering student at VT. He is so proud of his school and the support that is happening there. Please know that you are being supported in prayer. If I could take away the heartache of this event, I would. Thank you for being there for the kids. Thank you for supporting even a kid like mine. A guy who may not necessarily walk into or seek out spititual support, but a guy who needs it. He is the typical college student who was active in youth group and understands the power of God. Rely on that power of God. Hold tight to your faith. Be strong in the lord. I know you are counting on us and we won’t let you down. Thank you. God Bless you. Romans 12:12

Here in Houston, Texas we have been holding prayer meeting praying for all of you in this trying time. Sometimes words are hard to come by in situations like this but keep the faith, God is with you, He will strengthen and keep you - remember the words of Paul, “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7! What the devil meant for bad, God meant it for our good.
Our Love and Prayers are with you always!

My heart is heavy for the families of all the students and the family of the gunman. I can not begin to know the depth of their sorrow but I do know the depth of our Savior’s love and that it will sustain each and everyone of them. He is faithful, and will never leave nor forsake us…especially in this time of need. Praise God for all the lives that were spared! Know that in a small town outside of PA an e-mail is circulating to thousands and we ache for you and pray for you to be strenghthened and to find HIS PEACE. We will continue to raise you up in prayer. We stand with you in Spirit!! HIS daughter

In times like this we struggle to comprehend that there is a purpose for everything. We are reminded that though we don’t fully understand, we must trust in God’s promises and remember that God is in control. He has a purpose for everything and everyone. I lift my hands and my eyes to the Lord and pray that He provide comfort for ALL of us but most importantly to the families and friends most affected by this. God bless us all. In Psalms 20 we are comforted in God,in knowing that God hears us when we are in distress…He offers protection…He sends help and support from Zion. It is in the name of the Lord God our trust rests. May our brothers and sisters in Va Tech continue to trust in His name…may they trust and receive His provisions for them as they experience Him in this season of their lives. As well, may they glorify Him as they let their light shine before men (Matthew 5:16).

On behalf of myself and my entire college age small group, our love and prayers go out to you. My co-leader and I have decided to cancel our scheduled discussion tonight in order to focus on prayer for your campus community and to bring whatever comfort possible to our guys that are feeling the ripple effect of this weeks incident. We love you guys, though we’ve never met, you are our brothers and sisters and we are standing by you in the strength and comfort of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I pray that in the days of acceptance to come, that His presence is felt; in the months of healing to come, that His comfort is known; and in the years of recovery ahead, that His strength empowers each one of you. At choir rehearsal last night, we had a real burden to pray for Virginia Tech and the community, our nation and world’s response to this tragedy. After singing “You Are God Alone” we had a spontaneous time of worship and intercession for all involved. The news of the V-Tech tragedy touches the world, and we asked the Spirit to draw all people to Christ’s gift of salvation, comfort and hope. We’ll be joining you all in prayer tonight during our orchestra rehearsal! In the good times and bad, God is on His throne. He is God alone!
April 19th, 2007 at 10:20 am
WE are lifting all those effected by this tragedy at VT in our thoughts and prayers. Today and in the months to come. I pray that you find peace and healing through the love and grace of our Lord. If your heartache is so deep and the hardship so difficult that you find it almost impossible to stand, we pray that God will be with you to help you walk steadily, keep your eyes fixed firmly on HIM, your spirits attunded to HIS presence and minds trusting on HIS promises to walk with you through this dark valley. When we are experiencing pain so deep that we cannot find the words to speak to God, know that others are speaking to God on your behalf and the Holy Spirit intervenes, so your unspoken words are heard.

Our Bible Study Group will be praying tonight in Clear Lake, Wis.!
“Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong…Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret - it leads only to evil….The Lord delights in the way of the man whose steps he has made firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand….” Read more in Psalm 37.

have faith and believe in him. We all share with you; your pain, sorrow, and grief as these days will heal with the grace of God. I send prayers from a family who is surviving the impact of Hurricane Katrina.

Our Prayer is for the many who are experiencing untold grief over the horrific loss of a loved one.
We also are remembering the many who survived and will have PTSD. We pray for the servants of Lord in place right now to have wisdom and words of comfort and direction as they step to the plate in a way they never expected. We also pray for the family of the perpetrator of this violence that they will find refuge in The Prince of Peace. Our God answers prayer! Our hearts and prayers are being lifted to the throne of Grace.

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
I and my family will be praying for all those involved, and their families, in the Virginia Tech tragedy. We will and are believing for God to do an awesome work in this situation for His glory! What the devil tries to intend for evil, God will work it out for the good for his glory!! “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) Be encouraged and walk in the power of Christ and the Holy Spirit!
April 19th, 2007 at 10:46 am
Thank you very much for sharing this call for unified prayer. I can’t think of a more powerful way to uphold the students, faculty, staff and parents of students at Virginia Tech. I would also encourage us to pray for protection against copycat acts as Friday marks the anniversary of the horrific Columbine shootings, a time in the past when repeat acts have occurred. Thank you again, I will be in prayer throughout this day and will forward the note from Focus on the Family to our Christian faculty.
April 19th, 2007 at 10:47 am
Dear Family & Friends of Virginia Tech,
I attended VA Tech in the mid-80s, so I felt compelled to comment. I can remember what a pleasant and beautiful campus it was. OK, the drill field did smell like cow manure when it rained, but that became familiar, even welcome. But, wow, this violence you’ve experienced is not familiar or welcome.
I am praying that God will comfort you through the pain, grief and horror of this tragedy. And, I am praying that from this tragedy will come redemption. I pray all those involved and touched by this tragedy will recognize the brevity of life AND recognize our need for Jesus Christ. And, if you already know Jesus as your Savior and Lord, then share the blessed hope of salvation with others. Love your one loved ones and one another and reach out to others who are hurting or in need.
In Christ’s Love,

We are sending this call to prayer around the world. I am so grateful for Va Tech–it is where my husband and I found Christ 35 years ago through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. We have been serving on the staff of Northport Baptist Church here on Long Island, and know first hand the on-going devastating effects of trauma as we continue to see lives ripped apart as a result of 9-11. Everyone needs God’s help at this time. It CAN be a turning point. We are so gratified to see the Christians on campus rising up and lifting up the standard of Christ. He truly is the only answer.

Hi,
My heart is aching so much I just loved the idea of group prayer on thursday.
Such a waste for a young child of god to do this to so many - I pray for all there families and all college campuses,

Thank you for your email regarding a call to prayer. May we all be united under our Savior. As we pour our hearts and cries of anguish unto Him, let us lift those families and friends of those students who were slain and injured as well as the gunman’s family. May those families feel God embracing them with His love, grace, peace and presence. Our family has been praying for this tragic tragedy as it has unfolded. Prior to heading to school and work this morning, we joined together for a special time of prayer remembering the loved ones slain and injured and their families and friends. We also lifted in prayer: the staff and those involved in Campus Crusade especially, those ministering to these families. In His Word, He says: ‘Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.(Jeremiah 29:12) and remember in Hebrews 13:5 that He will never desert us nor ever forsake us. The Lord is our rock and refuge, our fortress and deliverer. (Psalm 18:2-3). God’s peace,

April 19th, 2007 at 2:08 pm
My prayers are with you all. We really don’t know how long any of us have the importance is to be ready. If you died today, do you know where you will spend eternity? If you want to spend eternity in heaven: acknowledge your sin (Romans 3:10,23); Acknowledge the penalty for sin (Romans 6:23); Jesus paid that penalty already (Romans 5:8); Then please accept Jesus who has already paid the price for your sins (Romans 10:13 and Ephesians 2:8-9)
April 19th, 2007 at 2:09 pm
I know first hand what it is to lose a child at the young age of 16. Please know that GOD has a plan for us all and it is through him that we will recover. We will not be the same and we will not get over it…we will learn how to cope through GOD’S divine grace.
I pray that you all find the once present peace within. Be gentle to yourself and others through the recovery of this horrific event and don’t rush through the pain, it has a timeframe of it’s own and we need to appreciate and accept GOD’s will as difficult and confusing as it is…there is a reason.
April 19th, 2007 at 2:13 pm
We are praying as Christian sisters and brothers and knowing that the Lord, inspite of the horror, can use this to bring folks to HIM. Our hearts go out to the grieving community of Tech, and to the immediate and extended families of those whose lives were taken. As a parent of young adults, I am praying for those suffering parents of the one who committed the crime. I keep reminding myself that The Lord Jesus is in control…and perfect love casts away all fear..In HIM, mn
April 19th, 2007 at 2:13 pm
Words of encouragement seem hardly sufficient and even empty at a time of such great, great loss. I pray the Holy Spirit will intercede on my behalf (as scriptures promises He will), on my family’s behalf and provide comfort, love and the grace to survive the coming days. We will not forget.
Praying in Arkansas!

Me and a few of my friends go walking every night, so we are going to pause for a moment to say a special prayer for the victims and there families…my heart goes out to these families…I know what it’s like to loose someone you love so close to you!

Words cannot express the feelings I have right now. They are similar to those I had after the Amish massacre at Nickel Mines, PA recently. The world is in need of a Savior. That Savior is Jesus Christ and only when we accept Him into our hearts can we know comfort, peace and joy even in the midst of tragedy. I will be praying for the students, the families, the injured, the faculty and the outreach workers in the days that lie ahead. God bless you all.

April 19th, 2007 at 3:03 pm
To the students and faculty at Virginia Tech know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I was hesitant to arise from my rest this morning…perhaps the overshadowing of Monday’s tragedy urged me to pull the covers over my head and stay safe…yet I did arise. Upon receiving the email from American Family for a call to pray I was lead to pray for you using a prayer from the New Church Book of Worship, “O Lord, our Heavenly Father, who orders all things for our eternal good, mercifully enlightened our minds, and give us a firm and abiding trust in thy love and care. Silence our murmurings, quiet our fears, and dispel our doubts, that arising above our afflictions and our anxieties, we may rest on Thee, the Rock of everlasting strength.” I thank God in advance for his steadfast love and mercy. Let us rest in his presence for He is our Rock and our salvation.

April 19th, 2007 at 3:05 pm
I join my prayers with the prayers of our nation and the world and implore God’s grace and mercy upon all those killed and injured, their families and friends. For their hearts to be filled with the peace of God’s love and not hate and anger or revenge. I pray that God bring good out of this evil. As we lift our hearts to Him.. let us all thank Him for the gift of life so precious. I pray also for Cho, a sick young man who in his miserable dark mind had not one single ray of hope and acted in anger and hate. Let us pray that others like him with sick minds and hearts never lack the love, attention and care they need for their healing, for this I pray…in the holy name of Jesus.

I pray God gives you just what you need at this very moment and through each moment of every day to come. His strength is sufficient.

Please know that my family, and church family,in Haverhill, NH is praying and have been praying the 23rd Psalm for you. Even in the valley of the shadow of death, fear no evil–for God is with you. God promises to never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) Although the valley seems incredibly deep and dark, Christ has given us a sure hope and promise.
Life is but a vapor. I pray that you will strive to live it coram deo–before the face of God. It is the only safe place to be.

April 19th, 2007 at 6:12 pm
This tragedy can turn unbelievers hearts toward HIM. My prayer is that it does. Christ followers [Believers] have someone to go to, namely GOD, who loves them and hears their cry and sustains them through the wrenching sorrow. Unbelievers have their friends for support but are missing an awesome, personal relationship with GOD, that is free for the asking. Friends come and go, but GOD is always available to contact, 24-7. His love is amazing. Praying for ALL of you. May HIS presence rest within you. Lynne B.

11. 전 세계 C.C.C.

Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
The word “renew” means to Change ….The Promise of God is as we wait upon Him He’ll change our strength from natural strength to super natural strength. from our strength to His stength
The only place to find rest from the storm is in His strength. The only place to find comfort is in His strength.
Psa 34:4-5

After discussions at work today, we came to the conclusion that without having the teachings of right and wrong in our schools; which are found in the Bible and in Prayers, the people in our schools are taught by liberal teachers who, in justifying their views on our children, we end up with the events of Columbine and Virginia Tech to sensationalize the news for profit, and not teach the Good News found in the Bible for our salvation and life eternal through the adherence to the Ten Commandments, the foundation for the Constitutional Law in the United States. This is evident by the doors in the Capital building in Washington D.C., where Moses is holding the Ten Commandments in his hands. It is the liberal judges in this country, along with lawyers, who want to destroy the moral fabric which has made this nation great in the decades and centuries of its past. We need to return to this morality not allow it to decay by allowing the immoral to be aloud and moral fiber of the country to be destroyed by those who wish to justify their evil ways and their quest for evil power as demonstrated by this very tragic event at Virginia Tech. If we learn anything from this, let us learn that if one is taught right from wrong and not that wrong is acceptable, that these events would not become more prolific in todays society. It is time to make a stand for the good in the world not turn the other way when people promote the evils of the world and not the power of the Holy Spirit which is in each one of us, if we only receive it and use it for the betterment of mankind not the destruction of mankind by such evil acts by those who have not been taught right from wrong and who do not know the truth and what is right as can be found in the Bible. My prayers go out to the people on the campus of Virginia Tech and we all know that through God’s Grace we can be comforted in such times of grief and sorrow. Let us learn the right way to be righteous and overcome the evils in our society. In God we Pray, Peace Be with You. It is certainly tragic, that it takes an event like this to allow prayer at school.

had not received this until tonight, but a friend & I had spent an hour in prayer this morning, as we do every Thursday.
I respectfully suggest that you omitted one vital prayer need - the family and loved ones of the shooter. They are undoubtedly sufferring unbelievable pain not only in their loss, but the shame and sorrow for his actions. Having lost three closest friends & our favorite teacher in a hotel fire when we were seniors in high school in 1946 I do have some knowledge and background for empathizing. I can assure you that God is still on duty. Always has been, always wull be, and He WILL give you comfort & peace if you allow Him to. p

Good Morning,
As a staff member of Purdue University in Adaptive Programs to help students complete work that would be very hard without our assistance in braile, Note takers, assistance for hearing loss, handicapped, and other students who have problems that threaten there success at a big University, I am wearing my Maroon and Orange and we are all setting time aside to pray. In the meantime, the prayer without ceasing occurs to me as I pray between e-mails, tasks, and phone calls continually throughout today and in the days to follow. This is not a one day fix. Our prayers will be needed for weeks to come.
Sincerely,

My thoughts and prayers are with the families impacted by this tragedy. Knowing what you are experiencing is infathomable, beyond words. God’s word is true — please know he is your refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble (Psa. 46:1). May you be still and know he is God (Psa. 46:10), who will give you peace that surpasses understanding (Eph. 4:8). Will keep you in prayers/thoughts in the difficult days ahead. Pat Ibsen

Please pray for the Korean community in the US and for the murderer’s family who are impacted by the actions of one of their members. Many immigrant Koreans because of thier group idenification world view feel shame and guilt for the murderer’s actions. He was a member of their community who got very lost and they didn’t help him. They are very concerned that Americans will attack them in some way because of this tortured individual’s actions or that they will be profiled. They believe the family of the murderer to be uder FBI protection because of this. Pray for the murderer’s family as the shame that this incident brings could very well result in suicide.

April 20th, 2007 at 10:50 am
My prayers are with you and the families, friends, collegaues and the nation as a whole, who are affected by this tragedy. This young man did not get the help he so badly needed and as a result, our young children and teachers and the whole Va. Tech coomunity had to pay the ultimate price. I am saddened that these young people did not know that they were not going to come back home that day, not the instructors know that they would take a bullet to save his students lives! This truly breaks my heart. but be strong in knowing that god knows best. We all must go thru tragedies of all sorts going thru this life. be strong and always continue to trust the Lord. He will strenghten us all, this nation and the world that this young man brought on us. Stay close to your families, never leave them without saying I love you,a nd then when seeing them return, hugging them like there would be no tomorrow.
this is my prayer for you.
Respectfully, Clarice- Long Beach, calif.

For VT
We are torn but You will heal
We are crushed and crumbled
Awaiting Your hand of wholeness
Like dust in the the wind we are blown
Only to be collected into something stronger
We are pummeled by tragic waves of adversity
We only await You
Oh Lord I lift up my voice and await your presense
For though I caught a glimpse of hell
I now breathe the breath of heaven
For you have brought me out and remade my broken heart.
April 20th, 2007 at 11:50 am

I’m Still Here
Friend, please don’t mourn for me
I’m still here, though you don’t see.
I’m right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.
My body is gone but I’m always near.
I’m everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I’ll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.
I’ll never wander out of your sight-
I’m the brightest star on a summer night.
I’ll never be beyond your reach-
I’m the warm moist sand when you’re at the beach.
I’m the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I’m the beautiful flowers of which you’re so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.
I’m the first bright blossom you’ll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I’m the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you’ll see that the face in the moon is mine.
When you start thinking there’s no one to love you,
you can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I’ll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you’ll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.
I’m the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I’m the smile you see on a baby’s face.
Just look for me, friend, I’m everyplace!
April 20th, 2007 at 12:35 pm

I, too, am a mother and my heart breaks for every parent who lost a child. This is one of those times when God doesn’t seem to make sense, but He sees a bigger picture. Our minds can’t wrap around whatever it is. I pray for you all in this horrendous loss you are all experiencing. Look heavenward during these dark days. Many are praying for you and will continue to pray for you.

Prayers everyday for you from Bloomington,IL. Hope you’ll gird for the long haul and look after your own needs while you are working so hard for others. (Remeber the stewardess always tells mothers to put the oxygen mask on themselves first before thier kids.) Hard to think of yourselves at this time, we know, but you’ll burn out if you don’t. Past experience is that many on campus probably won’t really grasp all that’s happened until some time later. Your care and support will be needed for a long time. Please keep your prayer needs posted for all of us to keep holding you up to Him who promises to sustain us all with a never ending supply.

I was on staff at Va Tech w/CCC ‘87-’89 and I still can’t believe what has ensued this week by a hand and heart of vengeance. Please know I am praying for God to comfort you in the depths of your hurting hearts and give you hope amidst the sorrow. God’s heart is toward you and He has not left you. Is.66:13 says “As a mother comforts her child so I will comfort you.” I pray The Lord will hold you, hug you, hear your cries and speak to you His words of life and love.

Class of ‘91, praying for you out in Redmond, WA
My heart breaks this week to see one of the places on this earth that I most fondly remember linked with the words massacre, tragedy, murder and evil. My prayers for comfort and peace are with the families and students who have lost children and friends. More important than our common Hokie bond is the eternal link we share through Christ. Though the ones we know who were believers are gone from this earth now, we have the comfort and hope of knowing that we will see them again. May God be glorified for the lives that were lived for Him.
April 20th, 2007 at 3:32 pm
I was on staff with the Navigators at Kent State University for two years, so in a small way, I feel like I know where VT could be in 20 or 30 years. The May 4, 1970 shootings of 4 people during a Vietnam War protest have defined that campus. In many ways, the administration and even the town refuse to move on, despite the fact that current and recent students would like to.
I am praying (along with my entire workplace at Nav HQ) that VT and the Blacksburg community will be known for the depth of Love and forgiveness, not just what happened on Monday. I am seeing it continuously through interviews and comments from students there. I am praying for all of you and the other organizational staff, for your interactions with students, for the trickle-down effect that is sure to occur as students try to return so some sense of normalcy. It is a sad opportunity to turn people toward Jesus, but I believe we have seen in past events (9/11, tsunami, Katrina) just how much God can and will be glorified through tragic circumstances. Christ’s own death was viewed by many to be terribly violent and inexplicable. But God chose to use it to bring us all to Him. I am praising God in advance for the glory we cannot yet see.
April 20th, 2007 at 3:38 pm
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comofort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over inito our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
April 20th, 2007 at 3:39 pm
Dear families, We are saddened deeply for your losses; please be kind to yourselves for a very long time. Every feeling you have is true; I pray for caregiving people to be called to your side in sweet, and sometimes, in silent understanding. Not just for a week or a few months…but, for years. We pray that the love of Jesus Christ permeates your being, Kathi & Todd

My prayers have been going up for the students and faculty of Virginia Tech in this tragic loss of life on their campus. I pray that the Lord will comfort and heal the hurts the families are suffering now. I, myself, have six of my grandchildren attending six separate colleges and universities in the USA and in England. I pray for them in my daily prayers and I wept for the grandparents of these precious souls who were in the massacre. I will continue to pray for changes that will allow the troubled to get help before more of our children are victimized. May God comfort you all in His love.

May the God of all comfort touch each family and each friend in the loss of those 31 amazing people. God will prevail and use this terrible trajedy to bring many people to him.
God bless you all,

1. They believe the family of the murderer to be under FBI protection because of this. Pray for the murderer’s family as the shame that this incident brings could very well result in suicide.
April 21st, 2007 at 9:07 am
As so many do, I also pray for the family and friends of the victims at Virginia Tech.
I also pray for the families and others who knew Cho, but were unable to help him. I pray that they would take their grief and their guilt to the Lord and would find forgiveness for their souls.

From Anacortes, Washington
We are so encouraged by the outpouring of prayer and are joining in prayer for all who were impacted by this tragedy. Our God is the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, as written in Galatians 1:3-4. There is no better comfort than His as found in Scripture:
Psalm 9:9-10 “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”
A message of hope:
Galatians 1:3 “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
We pray that many will recognize their need for God and come to salvation through Jesus Christ as a result of this time of grief. May God strengthen and equip you all as you serve Him on campuses across America bring His message to those who are grieving. Thank you for serving our Lord in this way!
April 21st, 2007 at 1:20 pm
We (Dutch family) prayed for the family of all victims of the killings last week. We were very shocked when realising that so many beautiful, young people were murdered. May God comfort family, friends, students and staff of VA Tech.

“Christ Jesus who died- more than that, who was raised to life- is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is writtem: ‘For your sake we face death all day long, we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present not the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom. 8:34b-39
From Warsaw, IN we pray for you and grieve with you. The crime was heinous. “Do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good.” “Vengence is mine, says the Lord.”
The Lord is your strength and hope.

We have been praying not only for the survivors and the families of those who were killed, but also for ministers of Jesus who are on the campuses around the country. As young people question their own mortality, we pray that there will be people to speak to them of Jesus.

My heart goes out to the community of Blacksburg. Diana
Is this not the fast I choose, to loose the bonds of injustice…to share your bread with the hungry, to bring the homeless poor into your house, to cover the naked. Then shall your light break forth like the dawn and your healing shall spring up quickly;your vindicator will go before you and the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call and the LORD will answer, you shall cry for help and he will say, “Here I am.” Isiah 58:6-9

Friends,
We are continuing to keep you in our prayers. CCC helped me to become a Christian and grow in Christ during my time at Virgina Tech. Many of us here in St Louis are continuing to pray for you.
April 21st, 2007 at 11:04 pm
I pray that God’s would calm your hearts. May He grant wisdom to you so you would know how to listen and when appropriate point others to Christ.
I went to UVa, and I live in Rhode Island. One of the those killed is my neighbor, but I don’t know this family.
Being a Chinese American in a largely White neighborhood, I felt a bit scared of how people might react to me after this incident. So, I agree with the Korean sister in a previous posting that people need to pray for the Korean community in America and especially the family of the shooter. I could only imagine what the level of shame they might be feeling.
April 22nd, 2007 at 12:08 am
May our Lord and Savoir comfort you, hold you all in the Palm of his hand, to lead your grief and mourning with his endless love and to ease the pain you feel. Amen.

April 22nd, 2007 at 3:28 pm
I know that God is sovereign, even though it is difficult in times like these to understand his purpose. I have and will continue to pray.
April 22nd, 2007 at 3:58 pm
As listed in all of the above prayers, I pray for the students who survived that they will find healing and wholeness if Christ. I pray for the Cho family that they will get the help, love and support they need as well as the families who lost loved ones. I especially pray for the mental health services of this country. That the stigma that goes with being mentally ill will stop, and that those who need the treatment will get good medical treatment and not be locked up because of being ill. Please join me on that.

None of you will be alone during this most difficult time…. May God Bless each and every person affected by this. May he give us the strength and will power to forgive, but never forget.
Keep all of those who were lost in our hearts now and always!

We are holding you up…allow yourselves to be comforted with the comforts of Christ.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding..” What a source of comfort are those words in a situation as overwhelming and unbearably sad as this. Our God has heard our prayers: He listens to his children and answers. I will continue to keep all those touched by this tragedy close in prayer. I am thankful for this site that allows Christians to unite in prayer.

As it is now a new Monday morning, may we be reminded that God’s mercies are new every day. Great is His faithfulness to us. Next Monday we will be able to look back and recount His many acts of lovingkindness and faithfulness to us, His children, throughout this new week that awaits us. With each passing moment of each day, week, month and year, He will heal those affected by this tragedy. His plan is already in motion to work each aspect of this sadness for good, as we love Him and passionately pursue His calling. Good, God, and the people of VT will prevail.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will comfort you and draw you toward God the Father and Jesus the Son. Our heavenly Father knows the pain and grief of losing His only Son to death on the cross. He cares and understands your pain. Jesus loved us so much that He died for us. Lean on Him and He will give you strength. Our hearts go out to all of you who are suffering.

As a mother of 3 adult children, my heart goes out to all of you good students at Virginia Tech. I am praying that as the days go by you will find some source of strength as you lean on eachother. Some events in life are just too hard.
Know that this U. S. of A. is behind all of you and that we share in your sorrow.
April 23rd, 2007 at 1:58 pm
Lord God
We, your followers, your disciples, ask
that you continue to be with VT students, staff, alumni, family, community memebers, friends… all who’ve been affected physically, emotionally, and spiritually by this tragic event. Help them turn to you Lord in this time of saddness, grieving, and heartache. Lord help those of us whohavn’t been heavily affected by giving/ providing whatever support possibly, even if it’s just a prayer. Because we know that something that may seem small to us, is big and can go a long way with you.
Thank you for your grace and your Sons’ sacrifice.
In You Name ~AMEN~

I am not a college student, but I am a mother. I just want to say that you are all in our prayers and my heart hurts. I pray that you will all be able to overcome the evil in this and keep the faith that God is an awesome God. I have been and will continue to pray for all of you.
April 23rd, 2007 at 10:29 pm
The Lord put on my heart to pray for you before I even knew that anyone from Campus Crusade was murdered last week. I told my husband soon after it happened- we need to pray for Cru.
Then I read the profiles of the students in USA Today and cried. Why did the Lord call four Cru students home? Out of proportion statistically to the population at VT.
The Spirit of Him who raised Christ from the dead gave life to these dear Cru children and will give life to all who receive him.
I have prayed for the Lord to be your strength, comfort, wisdom, guidance and peace for all of you in Cru, the families affected and your leadership. I have prayed that we will all realize that we need to “Wake Up!” - our time is short, we are like the mist… Jesus is coming soon.
May the Lord bless you and keep you all. From Minnesota,
Diane

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone at VT. There are no words that can take your pain away but there are words that can help you heal and grow stronger with time. These words are: “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble”. I will continue to pray that God give comfort and strength each day to all of you.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,”How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God.” I pray that you cling to the sustaining power of the Great I AM, who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is greater than sin. Lord strengthen these laborers and give them a filling of your great love to share with the lost and hurting at VT. We love and trust you, Lord.

I continue to pray for all of the Va Tech Nation that in the following days and years ahead that you will find comfort in the Lord. He will get you through this ordeal. It is said that the Lord never gives you anything that you can not handle. Trust in Him.

My husband, sons (ages 10 and 12) and I have been praying daily since last Monday.
We pray for the Lord’s peace and comfort for the families and friends who have lost dearly loved ones.
We are also praying that the Lord would be glorified in this situation and that many would come to know Him as a result.
April 25th, 2007 at 2:32 pm
I will be joining many others tomorrow in prayer for you and your campus. Over 25 years ago my church in Texas experienced the same tragedy you have. I am a survivor! That is what we are…Survivors. Those that have gone ahead of us are Heroes and will be remembered as such. The Lord has continued to heal me all these years and I am praying He will do the same and more for you. The Lord’s forgiveness is more powerful than any weapon leveled at us. I encourage those of you who know Christ as your Savior to look to Him and His Word for your healing and spread the good news… the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
April 25th, 2007 at 5:23 pm
My heart & prayers go out to everyone there. We will continue to pray for you on Thurs. at 7 along with the nation wide prayer. My son goes to IL Tech & is in Engineering. I also emailed him to join the national prayer time. May God bless you.

April 25th, 2007 at 6:25 pm
To all those who have been touched by this horrific tragedy…
My heart and prayers go out to all of you in this most difficult time. My heart shattered when I watched the tragedy unfold on the TV news, and I began to pray right then, and am still praying today for God’s presence, comfort, love, healing, and peace to be showered upon all of you continually today and in all the days to come. I grieve with you and my heart aches deeply for all you have had to endure. May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding be with and in you today and always. May you feel God’s presence and love more intensely than you ever have before. As you can see by all those who have left messages here, you are being lifted in prayer 24/7 all around the world, so I pray you can feel the power of those prayers daily. May God give you all that you need to sustain and strengthen you through the coming months and years. I hope that the healing God has begun in each of you will grow exponentially each day and that you can/will lean on one another, hug each other, cry with each other, whatever you need to make it through each hour, each day, etc. May God’s abundant blessings flow over VT and their families like a soothing & healing waterfall of His Grace, Mercy and Love today and always.
With heartfelt sympathy and prayers always,
Care Hitchcock

Just always remember that God is our light and only he knows the reason for all of this. Look to Christ and through him all things are possible even when it seems to be to big to ask for or recieve.

Words can’t be enough to express how sorry I am for all the suffering this senseless tragedy has caused. I believe God loves us and he is saddened by all the tears his people and children are sheading. I will continue to pray for healing, comforting and peace to all affected by this tragedy.
April 26th, 2007 at 2:17 am
Hello all, It’s the end of April, a few but so many days after the event. I have been praying for each student, faculty member and staff person that works with you. May God wrap and protect your minds, hearts and souls with the knowledge of His goodness and the power of His love. Many stand with you in prayer as you process the loss and horrific sadness on campus. May God give you fond memories and reminders of His grace to comfort your hearts and assure your souls of His steadfast mercy. God, be the BIG GOD of the universe in their lives today. Susan

Dear Ones at Cru,
My heart goes out to you all. Our church had a prayer service on the Thursday after the tragedy and we all prayed for the victims, their families and for the Christians at VT.
Only the Man of Sorrows can truly understand your pain and is with you in it. Cry to Jeusus! He understands and longs to comfort you. Don’t be afraid to weep and mourn. You are safe in Him.
Wishing you deep peace and comfort in the Holy Spirit,
With love, Stephanie Reed
May 9th, 2007 at 11:17 am
Please know that I have been praying for healing during this time. May we not stop praying. The moment we stop praying is the moment the evil one tries to step in. In Jesus’ name may all evil get out and stay out of your school, homes and campus. Also remember Jesus already won at the cross. Blessings, Grace
May 20th, 2007 at 5:55 pm
My heart goes out to all students, faculty, family members. How a seemingly ordinary day can turn into a day that can change one forever. I do know that God can heal wounded minds, bodies, spirits if we are open. We don’t understand why some of these things happen. But I am touched forever by the testimony of one of the victims. She didn’t have to argue about her stand for Jesus, because she KNEW Him. What a simple, yet profound statement! That is my goal to KNOW the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!God bless and touch each one at Virginia Tech.
July 1st, 2007 at 3:00 am
read the tragedy and am distured by the happenings. It is faith shaking at this moment and thousand of questions may flood one’s mind but knowing that GOD created this universe and all things belong to HIM comforts us.He gives; he takes revenge; he protects.
What can one say except to trust in HIM who is the beginning and the end. GOD BLESS

Hello
Great book. I just want to say what a fantastic thing you are doing! Good luck!
G’night
July 11th, 2007 at 3:34 pm
I just want to say that My heart and prayers will always be with every VT student and I will be praying for peace among us all. I had the chance to meet with a good friend of Lauren McCain and I feel like I know her from all the Good things that were mention of her. God will use her even better as she smiles down on all her christain brothers and sisters. May all the familys of each student know that their love ones are not forgotten.
July 28th, 2007 at 9:35 pm
Let us not only learn from this terrible act of unjustice that regardless of what we see portrayed of the cross, and what may seem to be our thoughts of HIM, we still have to search to find the blessings that Jesus gives to us. And the only way to find those blessings are by sending God our whole hearts with trust and faith. Let us be willing to accepts God’s True Love.
August 1st, 2007 at 1:24 am
Just wanted to say My heart is still just breaking over this. As I look at the faces and read the descriptions of these victims, I am just overwhelmed with how much I know God cares and loves them, and how much he loves their friends and family. To him they are not just names on a crawl on CNN or a faded headline long forgotten, but real beautiful lives and he created. Each life mattered so much to him that he went to the cross. I pray so much that each had the chance to say yes to His gift of salvation. I pray so much for the families of those victims that as support wanes with each passing day God’s comfort and peace will grow ever stronger.
Thanks Crusade for all the work you do on campuses everywhere. You certainly helped me get a strong foundation when I first went to Michigan State. I have no doubt you will continue to be used by the LORD to have his message boldy proclaimed at VT in the coming semesters.
January 26th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Just to let you know that you are appreciated and we are concerned. Know also that the Lord will not leave you comfortless. neither will he leave you without a testimony.
