A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

We, along with our Adult Bible Class, Koinonia, will be praying for families
and victims of this tragedy. What was meant for evil may God turn for good.

Father God, we lift the families of the victims into your healing hands. Lord give them strength and hope as they work through all this. May they lean on your everlasting arms.
Lord we pray for the staff and counselors as they meet with all involved that they would have discernment and wisdom in their words.
Lord we pray for peace and comfort. We pray for your mercies anew. Amen
And when the storms swirl and rage, there are mercies anew.
In affliction and pain, You will carry me through.
And at the end of my days, when your throne fills my view,
I will sing of Your mercies anew.
I will sing of Your mercies anew.

All of us at Moms In Touch International are deeply saddened by the most recent school tragedy at Virginia Tech. When we hear of violence like this being inflicted on the innocent, we cry out to our Sovereign, Almighty God who hears and answers prayer. MITI women world-wide are praying for all the families, staff and students involved in this tragic situation.
Standing Firm with you,

Thank you for this invitation to pray with you. The Lord is working in each of your young lives, and we thank Him for placing each of you in that place for such a time as this. Myself and my family have all been praying that God would draw many unto himself through this devastating sorrow. We are praying for His grace and strength for each of you and for the local ministries that reach to the lost and brokenhearted. May God bless your conversations and take heart that prayers are being poured out all over the world for you at this time. May His perfect peace and comfort be with you throughout all of your lives for eternity. All Glory to Him.

WE’ll join you in prayer this evening. What peace to know that even in the midst of tribulation, GOD is still in control. May He bring peace to those suffering from this terrible loss of life.

Now that NBC and the mass-media outlets are displaying the video and manifesto of the killer, I pray that people will refuse to follow the evil that this young man desired to market. I pray for all of us to turn from that face of evil that sadly captured his heart and STAND ON & IN the Word of God and the Blood of Jesus! Dear God, You alone are Worthy-let the blood of the innocent rest under your holy altar. Amen

“The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil everywhere. Prayer…is a disinfectant and a preventive. It purifies the air; it destroys the contagion of evil.” (The Purpose of Prayer, E.M. Bounds)

I just wanted you to know that a woman and her two daughters have been praying and will join you today. God Bless all those who have been affected by this tragedy - even those who are just touched on the edges - but especially all the families who are directly affected.

Hi,
My heart is aching so much I just loved the idea of group prayer on thursday.
Such a waste for a young child of god to do this to so many - I pray for all there families and all college campuses,
this is a time in a young persons life for re-birth in a journey to adulthood not devastation.
Kind Regards and thanks for this inspiration- we have a soccer game tonight and as manager I tend to break into the game to be with the V-tech Campus at 7:00. Strength in prayer and numbers- Evil will not win.
