A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

The campus crusade in Long Beach, CA will be praying for you guys. Hang in their. God will get you through this with his strength and comfort.
Love, Jenny-campus crusade in LB

We, the church family, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, have been praying for the VA Tech family. Asking the “God of all comfort, who comforts us in our troubles”…to make Himself more real than ever before to all those involved. We bless you in the name of Jesus Christ and our hearts are with you.

Thank you for your email regarding a call to prayer. May we all be united under our Savior. As we pour our hearts and cries of anguish unto Him, let us lift those families and friends of those students who were slain and injured as well as the gunman’s family. May those families feel God embracing them with His love, grace, peace and presence. Our family has been praying for this tragic tragedy as it has unfolded. Prior to heading to school and work this morning, we joined together for a special time of prayer remembering the loved ones slain and injured and their families and friends. We also lifted in prayer: the staff and those involved in Campus Crusade especially, those ministering to these families. In His Word, He says: ‘Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.(Jeremiah 29:12) and remember in Hebrews 13:5 that He will never desert us nor ever forsake us. The Lord is our rock and refuge, our fortress and deliverer. (Psalm 18:2-3). God’s peace,

I am a director for a Christian preschool in Orland Park, Illinois. My teachers and I feel that it is so important to teach our little ones the importance of prayer and how God speaks to them through the Bible stories
we tell in class! Keep up the good work in His name!

I am a former member of CCC. It was at a CCC Conference in Daytona Beach that I recommitted my life to Christ. Now my daughter is an active CCC member at her college. Please know that our church in Mt. Airy, MD is PRAYING for you all. Stay strong. When someone asks, “Where was God” refer them to Acts 2:22-24. He was there! Just like He was there when He delivered His Son for our sins.

We have been praying daily for you folks during this tragic time. We are truly saddened at the tragedy you have suffered and from which you will continue to suffer for many years to come. May the God of hope and peace touch you with His love as you place your trust in Him. Only He can make sense out of all of this. We in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada count it a privilege to uphold you in prayer.

I am praying for everyone involoved at Virginia Tech. I am praying that the Lord will comfort all of the families affected, including the parents of the shooter. I pray that they will come to know Christ if they do not already know Him. I also pray that God protects them and that people show them mercy and Christ’s love inspight of what their son has done.

My heart aches for the families and friends who have lost loved ones. Because we know that “nothing is impossible with God”, we are assured that God will bring healing to the VT community. Our prayers are with everyone - the families, students, CCC staff and VT staff–may God grant you peace and hope through such dark days. May God be glorified, even when we are sad and don’t understand!

We will join you in the prayers and uphold all the students and their families in our prayers.
God answers prayer (James 5:16). God has promised to listen and respond to the prayers of His children (Isaiah 65:24). He promises to act when our petitions are in Jesus’ name—that is, matching His will and His timing (John 14:13)
