A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

We have a prayer group of intercessors that have been meeting on Thursday nights for 30+ years. We will be praying tonight for Virginia Tech families, staff and counselors and whatever else God puts on our hearts. This is so significant! Thank you for starting this. Don’t you know that the Devil is cringing right now!!!! Worship the Lord for His goodness and it tears the enemy up!

My family and I have been praying for everyone at Tech, as well as for the shooter’s family, every since this happened. Thankfully He that is in us, is greater than he that is in this world. We will continue in prayer and support.

Just know that earth is just a detour to the ultimate peace and serenity of living in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. No matter how difficult or needlessly cut-short life may be, His kingdom is His promise to us. He will most certainly greet those you’ve lost with open arms. My prayers are with you all.

As Nehemiah said in 1:4 “When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.” I haven’t fasted many days, but I have mourned and wept, and I have prayed. I will continue to pray for all of you at Virg. Tech.

We’re praying tonight at 7pm at Sierra Madre Congregational Church near Pasadena, CA! Our hearts are with you all via the Holy Spirit for the families and students caught in this evil plot and for the hearts, minds, and souls of America. May God open up the “good” out of this tradegy when we pray together in the Holy Spirit with faith and hope and love and “overcoming evil with good.” May God’s healing and reviving power come down! TO GOD BE THE GLORY….In Him Always!

I am praying for everyone at Virginia Tech and all the families too. I pray that God will give you all a peace beyond all understanding. I believe many people are going to come to know God through this.

Words of encouragement seem hardly sufficient and even empty at a time of such great, great loss. I pray the Holy Spirit will intercede on my behalf (as scriptures promises He will), on my family’s behalf and provide comfort, love and the grace to survive the coming days. We will not forget.
Praying in Arkansas!

We are praying as Christian sisters and brothers and knowing that the Lord, inspite of the horror, can use this to bring folks to HIM. Our hearts go out to the grieving community of Tech, and to the immediate and extended families of those whose lives were taken. As a parent of young adults, I am praying for those suffering parents of the one who committed the crime. I keep reminding myself that The Lord Jesus is in control…and perfect love casts away all fear..In HIM, mn

I know first hand what it is to lose a child at the young age of 16. Please know that GOD has a plan for us all and it is through him that we will recover. We will not be the same and we will not get over it…we will learn how to cope through GOD’S divine grace.
I pray that you all find the once present peace within. Be gentle to yourself and others through the recovery of this horrific event and don’t rush through the pain, it has a timeframe of it’s own and we need to appreciate and accept GOD’s will as difficult and confusing as it is…there is a reason.

My prayers are with you all. We really don’t know how long any of us have the importance is to be ready. If you died today, do you know where you will spend eternity? If you want to spend eternity in heaven: acknowledge your sin (Romans 3:10,23); Acknowledge the penalty for sin (Romans 6:23); Jesus paid that penalty already (Romans 5:8); Then please accept Jesus who has already paid the price for your sins (Romans 10:13 and Ephesians 2:8-9)

…and I am so thankful that a good number of students who were involved knew and know the Lord–that is God’s grace. They are with the Lord now, or have access to God’s comfort and help at this very difficult time.

Praying for the relief of all those affected by the VT attack, especially friends and family, from Lexington, KY. May the tragedy spark in others the newfound fervency for spreading the Gospel that I and others here at the Univ. of KY have found.

I will be praying for the families involved and for our world that these senseless acts of violence will stop and that as we join together and gain strength with Christ that the evil will be stopped.

I am praying that many will come to know Christ through this tragedy, bringing good from evil.

There are many things we do not understand. We’ll find out one day when we see Jesus face to face. Meanwhile, we will lift up our heads and look at Him, offering praises. Praying for His comfort to the students at VA Tech and their families
and praying that the Lord will give you the strength and that He will bless you with His Love and Peace.

I am praying for you all especially this evening at 7:00 p.m. as the world sends up an ocean of prayer on your behalf. Our God is an omnipresent God whose Presence is with you every moment of every day to strengthen, comfort, guide and most of all - LOVE YOU ALL - during this devastating week of your lives. His PEACE is with you to lift your hearts during this time of despair. He feels the pain that is piercing your hearts and will soothe the hurt if you only lean on Him. We don’t always know WHY horrific things happen in our lives, but we always know for CERTAIN that He is there to carry us through them when we can’t take another step. I am sending out this email to call all my friends and loved ones to a time of prayer on your behalf this evening at 7:00. May you feel His AWESOME & MIGHTY PRESENCE with you in a very special way.
In Christ’s Love,
Tim, Crystal, Ashlyn & Austin Gross

As a member of the faculty at the University of Toledo, I am deeply saddened, but also touched by the stories of courage and sacrifice. They are vivid reminders of how Jesus willingly gave His own Life for all of us.
