A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

I am in a small group of moms of adult kids, and we prayed for you all today, and for the families of all involved. This is in Fairfax, VA. Our love and prayers continue with you as you go through the grieving and healing process. May God bring His light into this very dark situation, and may souls be brought into His Kingdom!

We are taking time tonight at Indiana University during our weekly Cru meeting to pray for those of you who have lost someone that God would meet you in your grief. Also for everyone at VT and asking God to use this to bring others to Himself.
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” (Genesis 50:20) NIV

I am saddened to learn of the tragedy at VTU and have been praying tearfully for the victims, injured and extended families affected. I have two children in college. May the God of All Comfort be with each person as he or she grieves and looks to God for strength to live. My heart and prayers go out to every person in the VTU community.

I will be joining my family in Denton, Maryland tonight in prayer for all those impacted by the tragedy at Virginia Tech. My heart breaks for the students, faculty, family and friends on the Virgina Tech campus. My prayer is that our country would seek Jesus who is the ultimate source of comfort and peace.

“Be not afraid. I go before you always. Come follow me, and I will give you rest.”
May God guide and comfort all affected by this tragedy. Lean on him, and find strength in His love. I’m praying for you from DC, may you find hope.

I am one of many praying for you from Colorado. I am from Oklahoma City and had friends and acquaintances in the Murrah bombing. I live in a suburb of Denver not far from Columbine and Bailey. The pain of losing friends and family and the feeling of security in our community is so overwhelming but the power of God’s comfort is beyond comprehension. I pray God gives you just what you need at this very moment and through each moment of every day to come. His strength is sufficient.

May we all continue to pray for the students, faculty, and family members touched by the tragedy at Virginia Tech. May we also pray for all those on college campuses that God will keep them safe from harm.

In the sadness of our hearts, we join in praying for all of you - and everyone affected by this tragedy. May God indeed rain down his comfort and show us how to overcome evil with good.

My son is serving with CCCI in West Africa with One Story right now. I am sure he and his partners are totally unaware of what has occured. It will be difficult for them to learn of this and feel as helpless as we all feel. Our help comes in the Lord. I will pray daily for the VTech staff of CCC, the students, and their families as you all continue to minister to them.

The Christian preschool I work at in Maryland has been uplifting the families and the students at Virginia Tech every morning before we bring the children into the school.
May our Lord bring glory out of awful situation.

I will definitely be praying, as will our church. I received a BA in ‘93 and an MAEd. in ‘96 from Tech.
I know that one day I’ll meet my little brothers and sisters of the faith who died in this tragedy. We have an awesome God!
