A Call to Prayer

Posted by National Campus Office :: 10:08 am

In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.

In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.

I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.

So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

Our Community Bible Study staff meets each morning at 10:00 mountain time. We have been praying for the families, the students, the staff of VT, as well as for the parents of the one who caused such pain and grief. May the LORD indeed have the ultimate glory as we all trust Him. Romans 8:28,29

This is my fathers world. Our God reign, Or God is an awsome God. He will never leave or forsake us.Though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death he will not forsake us. He will confort us in our sorrow. Notthing will happen to us without His permission. His banner over us is love. This is my prayer for all those who are now in this valley of the shadow of death. I am sharing in your sorrow, and pray for healing and comfort for you daily.

I have been praying since I heard of this tragedy. I have requested that all of my blog readers pray (most of them are Christian). This is so horrific. I am praying that the Lord is with all of the families, the faculty, the students and any others who are affected. Aren’t we all affected, though? The Lord truly needs to heal this world. Know that my prayers, and those of my family and friends, are with all of you at Virginia Tech.

I join you in prayer that GOD will comfort all of you that grieve, all of you that have lost loved ones, and the family of the gunman for what they too must now endure. I also ask GOD to guide our country to peace, and pray that this will never happen again anywhere in the world.

This tragedy can turn unbelievers hearts toward HIM. My prayer is that it does. Christ followers [Believers] have someone to go to, namely GOD, who loves them and hears their cry and sustains them through the wrenching sorrow. Unbelievers have their friends for support but are missing an awesome, personal relationship with GOD, that is free for the asking. Friends come and go, but GOD is always available to contact, 24-7. His love is amazing. Praying for ALL of you. May HIS presence rest within you. Lynne B.

Please know that my family, and church family,in Haverhill, NH is praying and have been praying the 23rd Psalm for you. Even in the valley of the shadow of death, fear no evil–for God is with you. God promises to never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) Although the valley seems incredibly deep and dark, Christ has given us a sure hope and promise.

Life is but a vapor. I pray that you will strive to live it coram deo–before the face of God. It is the only safe place to be.
