A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

Lifting you up in NY to the Lord who is “our strength and our shield, an ever present help in times of trouble.” He was present during the 9/11 attacks, and He was present on Monday… and from this tragedy, He will bring much good. Praying for you as staff and students who are ministering in the aftermath….

I wanted to let you know that I have contacted my friend in radio and also asked my brother-in-law the pastor to pray today at 7:00pm in his class. I live in Denver and although was not close to the Columbine tragedy, and cannot understand what you are going through, I see the pain and the hurt. God Bless to all the students of this world as he reveals his glory that will come from this.

I’ve been praying for those affected by the tragedy at Virginia Tech. Specifically, I will continue to pray that God will use those of you involved with Campus Crusade to reach out to those in need. I too was affected by a tragedy while in college, not to this magnitude, but I know that God’s peace that surpasses all understanding is in your midst. May the love and grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, be made more real to you in these days. With love,
Julie (Shelbyville, IN)

This is a senseless tragedy. What I say will not have much comfort for you, but my heart and prayers are for the families and friends lost and affected by this tragedy.
No one deserved this.

We stand by your side in prayer. As a former CCC staff member at VT, you are all in my heart and I have been recruiting a team of prayer warriors to help cover you in prayer. We’re on our knees. “When you go thru deep waters and great trouble I will be with you. When you go thru rivers of great difficulty, you will not drown.” Isa 43:1-3
