A Call to Prayer

Posted by National Campus Office :: 10:08 am

In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.

In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.

I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.

So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

    Thank you for your leadership.

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerers thorugh him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Jesus Christ our Lord.”- Romans 8:37-39

Thank you so much! This is powerful. I’m praying for you. I love you. I need you to survive.

I am praying for all of you and I praise God for the testimony of His grace and strength that you all have shown the world. You all are a light in darkness and I know that His word says that He will never leave you or forsake you. Many groups here in the Virginia Beach and Chesapeake VA area are praying for all of you. My prayer is Colossians 1:11, “We pray that you will be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might of His Glory; to exercise every kind of endurance and patience with joy”

    11. 전 세계 C.C.C.

Our family is joining with others in prayer that the God of all comfort would pour out His love and peace at this time of great sorrow. We stand firm in the strength of God choosing not to be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good. We reach out in the love of Christ to each family suffering loss. May you be comforted today knowing others care deeply.

dear precious brothers and sisiters in Christ,

Please know that our family (CCC staff usually serving in Germany, but on Home Assignment in the Chicagoland area) is praying for you. Our hearts go out to you.

We are bringing you before our Father’s throne. We are asking for comfort, healing, hope and peace to permeate. We are beseeching Him to Glorify Himself through each and every situation.

We believe God CAN and He desires to use each situation for GOOD.

We pray that each of you would choose to trust Him, lean on Him, fall on Him.

We wish we could hug each one of you.

My husband is a VA Tech grad and we visited there over our break. We are teaching at a Christian University in South Korea. We are praying for you and we are processing this tragedy and the shame of his being from South Korea. Our students are deeply grieved and we are seeking the Lord.

In my classes we have been writing, or quiet or thinking of all that has happened to process the terrible sin and pain, anger and shame.

Our Lord is mighty. He alone knows all things and He is working in the midst of great pain and sorrow. We are holding a candelight vigil tonight to lift up your campus and your students as well as all the families.

May our Lord’s comfort and healing deeply minister to all involved.

Have been praying since the first news came on TV.
Tonight on the news, one of the victims said he forgave the killer. Praise the Lord, that is the beginning of healing.
May He give us the grace to pray for his family, also.
Feel His arms around each of you, pouring out His love to you.
    Because He lives and cares.

Psalm 27:13 - “I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.”
