A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

Good Morning,
As a staff member of Purdue University in Adaptive Programs to help students complete work that would be very hard without our assistance in braile, Note takers, assistance for hearing loss, handicapped, and other students who have problems that threaten there success at a big University, I am wearing my Maroon and Orange and we are all setting time aside to pray. In the meantime, the prayer without ceasing occurs to me as I pray between e-mails, tasks, and phone calls continually throughout today and in the days to follow. This is not a one day fix. Our prayers will be needed for weeks to come.
Sincerely,
Anita Brieda

We truly serve an awesome God who is the God of all comfort. He alone can bring healing and peace in a time of such pain and confusion. I am so blessed when I see the number of students embracing in prayer and seeking the Lord for strength and grace. Our family will be lifting you up before our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It was our privilege to pray for you as a family. Please be assured that we’ll continue to hold you up before our loving Father! You are true warriors for the King on the front lines of battle.

My prayer is that the parents and loved ones of these fallen students will call out to God for help, and that He would grasp them, comforting them in their pain. May it one day be so that “He shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” Amen.

Our hearts are aching with you from afar. We are fellow American staff living in Singapore. We are praying your eyes will be lifted up and drawn to our Savior who endured immense suffering alone so that in our suffering, we are never alone. These are the times when even in your weakness you have been given a megaphone to speak of Him to the watching world. Praying you will have strength and grace to communicate the beauties of Christ beyond the tragedies of this life, and that it will serve as a healing balm to your entire community and lead many to ultimate rest in Him.

Please pray for the Behr (sp?) Family who lost a daughter in the massacre at VT. Unfortunately, in their rush to their daughter’s side, the father who was backing the car out the driveway ran over their 9.5 year old daughter and killed her. Needless to say, the parents are overwhelmed with unspeakable grieve. Please pray for them. Thanks!

My younger bro is on staff with Crusade in Cincinnati Ohio. So I know of the closeness of the staff there and how much support they’ll give you. Continue to rely on GOD and he’ll give you the grace needed to get through this period. We love you all and will continue to lift you up to the feet of the master.
