A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

For VT
We are torn but You will heal
We are crushed and crumbled
Awaiting Your hand of wholeness
Like dust in the the wind we are blown
Only to be collected into something stronger
We are pummeled by tragic waves of adversity
We only await You
Oh Lord I lift up my voice and await your presense
For though I caught a glimpse of hell
I now breathe the breath of heaven
For you have brought me out and remade my broken heart.

I missed the thursday night prayer time but i have been praying continously since i heard the news. our school here in Smyrna has made small round buttons with VT on them in commemoration of Monday’s masacure. Also today we had an extra moment of silence in memory of the Columbine incident. I am praying for you all and no matter what, you are never alone, Jesus loves you!

My prayers are with you and the families, friends, collegaues and the nation as a whole, who are affected by this tragedy. This young man did not get the help he so badly needed and as a result, our young children and teachers and the whole Va. Tech coomunity had to pay the ultimate price. I am saddened that these young people did not know that they were not going to come back home that day, not the instructors know that they would take a bullet to save his students lives! This truly breaks my heart. but be strong in knowing that god knows best. We all must go thru tragedies of all sorts going thru this life. be strong and always continue to trust the Lord. He will strenghten us all, this nation and the world that this young man brought on us. Stay close to your families, never leave them without saying I love you,a nd then when seeing them return, hugging them like there would be no tomorrow.
this is my prayer for you.
Respectfully, Clarice- Long Beach, calif.

Please pray for the Korean community in the US and for the murderer’s family who are impacted by the actions of one of their members. Many immigrant Koreans because of thier group idenification world view feel shame and guilt for the murderer’s actions. He was a member of their community who got very lost and they didn’t help him. They are very concerned that Americans will attack them in some way because of this tortured individual’s actions or that they will be profiled. They believe the family of the murderer to be uder FBI protection because of this. Pray for the murderer’s family as the shame that this incident brings could very well result in suicide.

We are praying for you in Austin, Arkansas. There is no way to understand why something so horrible happened. We live in a fallen world. But Jesus is faithful, and is going through this with you. He will lift you up and set your feet upon a rock — you WILL get through this with victory with God’s help! We love you all!

Please know that those who lost their lives will never be forgotten. Each of us has a part in God’s plan and while the victims will be missed they are together looking down from a glorius place. My prayers are for the families and friends of not only the victims but all of the VT community as well. May you find comfort from each other and strength from our Lord.

Our family and our youth group are praying for you.
The Lord be with you all.
Psalm 27:1 says this…
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?

I pray that God would fulfill His vision and missions through this trial and difficulties. God! Please comfort the families and friends who lost their loved one, and they would experience You through this time. And the lost students and family would come to You with humble hearts. God, let us be united across the states and nations in intercessory prayer and be urgent to share Your love to the nations!!

We are praying especially for your ministry as well as other campus ministries and involved local churches in the area. God is able to make beauty from ashes and he uses faithful instruments in His mighty hands. We pray you will be those instruments.

All of you at VA Tech are in our prayers here in South Texas. The Word of God says that what the devil means for evil God turns it around for good. I believe the Word of God and I believe He will do what He says. May the peace of God that passes all understanding cover VA Tech and all the people involved.

Thank you for all you’re doing to minister to hurting VT students right now. We prayed for you at our church staff meeting this week, and will continue to lift you up. You’re in our thoughts in Mason, Ohio.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families impacted by this tragedy. Knowing what you are experiencing is infathomable, beyond words. God’s word is true — please know he is your refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble (Psa. 46:1). May you be still and know he is God (Psa. 46:10), who will give you peace that surpasses understanding (Eph. 4:8). Will keep you in prayers/thoughts in the difficult days ahead. Pat Ibsen
