A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

My heart goes out to the community of Blacksburg. Diana
Is this not the fast I choose, to loose the bonds of injustice…to share your bread with the hungry, to bring the homeless poor into your house, to cover the naked. Then shall your light break forth like the dawn and your healing shall spring up quickly;your vindicator will go before you and the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call and the LORD will answer, you shall cry for help and he will say, “Here I am.” Isiah 58:6-9

We have been praying not only for the survivors and the families of those who were killed, but also for ministers of Jesus who are on the campuses around the country. As young people question their own mortality, we pray that there will be people to speak to them of Jesus.

“Christ Jesus who died- more than that, who was raised to life- is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is writtem: ‘For your sake we face death all day long, we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present not the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom. 8:34b-39
From Warsaw, IN we pray for you and grieve with you. The crime was heinous. “Do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good.” “Vengence is mine, says the Lord.”
The Lord is your strength and hope.

We (Dutch family) prayed for the family of all victims of the killings last week. We were very shocked when realising that so many beautiful, young people were murdered. May God comfort family, friends, students and staff of VA Tech.
God bless you!

From Anacortes, Washington
We are so encouraged by the outpouring of prayer and are joining in prayer for all who were impacted by this tragedy. Our God is the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, as written in Galatians 1:3-4. There is no better comfort than His as found in Scripture:
Psalm 9:9-10 “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”
A message of hope:
Galatians 1:3 “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
We pray that many will recognize their need for God and come to salvation through Jesus Christ as a result of this time of grief. May God strengthen and equip you all as you serve Him on campuses across America bring His message to those who are grieving. Thank you for serving our Lord in this way!

As so many do, I also pray for the family and friends of the victims at Virginia Tech.
I also pray for the families and others who knew Cho, but were unable to help him. I pray that they would take their grief and their guilt to the Lord and would find forgiveness for their souls.

1. Please pray for the Korean community in the US and for the murderer’s family who are impacted by the actions of one of their members. Many immigrant Koreans because of thier group idenification world view feel shame and guilt for the murderer’s actions. He was a member of their community who got very lost and they didn’t help him. They are very concerned that Americans will attack them in some way because of this tortured individual’s actions or that they will be profiled. They believe the family of the murderer to be under FBI protection because of this. Pray for the murderer’s family as the shame that this incident brings could very well result in suicide.

We are so sorry for the students, the husbands and wives and children and brothers and sisters and parents who have lost their loved ones. We have been praying for them all since the terrible thing happened. We are trusting God to do a wonderful thing. There is always something good that comes out of something bad. We are praying that many will come to know Christ as their personal Savior.

I thank God for the overwheming strength and courage shown by the student body and staff at VT. I was in tears Tuesday as I watched them chant we are hokies. May the God of all comfort touch each family and each friend in the loss of those 31 amazing people. God will prevail and use this terrible trajedy to bring many people to him.
God bless you all,

My prayers have been going up for the students and faculty of Virginia Tech in this tragic loss of life on their campus. I pray that the Lord will comfort and heal the hurts the families are suffering now. I, myself, have six of my grandchildren attending six separate colleges and universities in the USA and in England. I pray for them in my daily prayers and I wept for the grandparents of these precious souls who were in the massacre. I will continue to pray for changes that will allow the troubled to get help before more of our children are victimized. May God comfort you all in His love.
