A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

My prayers, and I’m sure those of my co-workers whom I’m about to send an e-mail to, will be lifted for all the families impacted by this terrible tragedy. The name of my workplace prayer chain, GILAIC…God Is Large And In Charge, says it best!
No matter what evil is thrown our way, we have a God who is still speaking in this time. The nails couldn’t hold Christ to the cross nor can this tragedy silence the voices of believers around this world! May the families who are grieving rest in the palm of the Almighty’s comforting hand. May they know there are sisters and brothers in extended communities holding them up, bearing their pain, and loving them through.

I am saddened by this event. I will be praying as requested for everyone who was involved. I think we should also be praying for the family of the student who did this. They are hurting as well. May the Lord be with you all.

we are great grandparents and we have witnessed the power of prayer to resolve many hurtful situations. God sees it all and really cares for each one of us even in stressful times. The love of Christ bridges the gape between humanisms hopelessness and Christianity hopefulness……….

May God give His comfort and bring good out of this tragedy. Lean hard upon Him; He is a present help in times of trouble, and He promises to supply your needs and heal your broken hearts.

I will pray Thursday that each person touched by the incident at Virginia Tech will have their heart soothed in a very tender and personal way by God, and that this incident will create an ever strengthening bond between them and our Father.

My heart and prayers go out to all who died. Even Cho. The thing that tears my heart up the most is that if this kid would have came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ this never would have happened. I pray that this is a wake up call for all half-hearted Christians and to people who do not know Jesus Christ as their PERSONAL Lord ans Saviour…. We are not gureented the next minute. I pray even now at my computer that the Christians would stand up and be bold and wittness the their fellow classmates and at the same time share the joy of Christ to the lost. How many died that did not know Jesus? Thats what breaks my heart. I have lost family and know the pain.. but can rejoice in knowing I will see them again one day in heaven. Christians……. STAND UP. I love each and every one of you and will be praying for you.. ROMANS 10:9 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your HEART that God raised Him from the dead YOU SHALL BE SAVED!!!!

My heart just aches for the grief you are engulfed by right now. I was a teacher in Fairfax County–where the shooter and several of the victims are from–during 9/11, the anthrax scare, and the sniper attacks. There’s been so much heartache over the years.
Please know that all of the students, faculty, staff, and families affected are ever-present in our thoughts and prayers right now. I will be joining in the day of prayer tomorrow from Honolulu, Hawaii. May God’s peace surround and sustain you through this.
Peace to you,
The Keffer Family

I will be praying. Also forwarding an email from familylife to my family and friends. There are several people in my family who are not Christians but this has caused me to be bold in my words -mostly with comforting words of scripture. 2 cor 4:8 “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed… Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
God will not abandon or destroy us. There is a hope and a future for us…

I just looked at the beautiful faces of the victims. People of all ages, race, nationality, sex, fathers, sons, mothers daughters, wives, and husbands.
To the family and friends of the victims, I am so sorry and I pray and cry for your loss.

We are grieving with all the community of Blacksburg and the community of VT. Our hearts and prayers are with you and we fervently pray that the Lord will send His Spirit upon you and that he will raise up a mighty army of believers from this tragedy - for what man intends for evil, the Lord will use for good. Thank you for ministering to those in need.
