A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

On behalf of the Korean Church, I offer our sincere sympathy to the families and citizens of Blacksburg, Virginia, and indeed all Americans, for the terrible tragedy that has befallen the students and professors of Virginia Tech University, and the whole community.
I do not doubt that this is the deadliest school shooting incident in the history of the United States. Citizens of the US are surely extremely shocked, angered and griefâstricken over the tragic loss of life and the injuries and trauma suffered.
When we received the news that this disaster was inflicted by a Korean student, all Korean society and the churches felt even deeper shock and grief. We can find no words with which to console the families of the dead and injured.
Both the Korean churches and American churches, sometimes separately, often together, have been working to build a community of reconciliation and peace in diverse societies. We do not want our all efforts for peace to fail. Through this tragic event, we recommit ourselves to teach young people a peaceful way of thinking and a peaceful way of life.

Of course we will join in Prayer this Thursday & Sunday; Probably more; Our hearts & Prayers Go to the Entire School & The Families; May the Lord Bless the hands of those doctors & nurses taking care of the injured as well. May the Lord Guide us all to a way to avoid letting this happen again. Perhaps this is our Awakening.
Much Love From Sonoma County (Northern California)

I am writing from Alberta Canada and want those who are hurting from this tragedy in Virginia to know that Canada, especially Alberta, knows the deep loss and pain many are feeling in your country.
Our God is a God of mercy and grace who in the days and weeks ahead will reach out to all who need healing through His children. Children of God, RISE UP!
I am attending a meeting at our church Thursday PM and will call for a minute of silent prayer for the families, students and faculty of Virginia Tech. God be with you all.

I am a mom in Kirkland, WA and I have forwarded this call to prayer to all that I know. I will be praying for you all tomorrow (continuing to pray as I have done since I heard of the tragedy). Please know that here on the other side of the country we are joined with you. We serve a mighty God and in the midst of horrible times it helps me to know that while we are shocked, He was not surprised by what happened. He is bigger than all of it and there to comfort those who mourn. We don’t understand why, but God does and we need to rest in that. John 16:33″I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

The whole VA Tech community is in our hearts and prayers. Some of the most quality individuals I have ever met are VA Tech students and grads. Now you have the opportunity to demostrate your strength and character to the world. May Jesus Christ minister to each hurting family member and friend in a deep and healing way. As a representative of the Washington and Lee University community (’94 alum) up the road from you in Virginia, I extend our sincere love and sympathy.

I was very shocked by the massacre on Virginia Tech. campus this week. It was very sad to hear that so many innocent people died by a malicious shooter. I was so distressed by the cruel story that I could not read the whole story of Molly in this web-site. I pray that God would give His best strength and abundant mercy to all who have heard this sad news, especially to those who are friends and family members of the victims of this tragedy, so that they may testify God’s love in the future.

Praying for you from Valleyview, Alberta, Canada.
I do believe and know that God’s desire is to bring good things from the evil intent of Satan. (Just look at the cross). May you have wisdom, courage and spiritual insight at this time.

We are in Iowa and when I read the article by Dennis Rainey and asked “what can we do?” I realized we can all join together and agree in prayer. We can’t understand His ways - but we can trust His heart. May God be mighty over the enemy in this tragedy.
