A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

Joining with you in prayer in the Dallas area.

I will be leading prayer in our Rotary Club at noon today as well as a group of Christian men tonight. VT will be a main focus of the prayers. A horrible reminder of how important to have ministries like Campus Crusade. We are reminded again how all of our lives can be changed in a twinkling of an eye sometimes from others used by Satan.

My Bible study group prayed for everyone involved last night and my family and I have been and will continue to pray for the victims, their friends and family members, and for all of you who are ministering in the midst of grief today and in the days to come. May God bless you all with His precious comfort, encouragement and love and hold you all close in His arms.

I pray that the Spirit of God will be poured out in the mist of this situation. For I know what the devil means for bad the Lord can turn it around for His good. I also pray that the Father will somehow bring comfort to each of these individuals.

This is truly a tragic week in the history of the United States. A young ladie, formerly from Illinois lost her life in this tragedy. She was the daughter of a VT professor and a niece of a Southern Baptist Preacher in Sterling, IL. Also another SBC student who participated in campus outreach with the VT Baptist Collegic Ministries lost his life as well. My heart goes out to all the students, faculty and families at VT. May the Lord give you peace beyond measure durin this time. I will send a message to the Baptist Collegic Ministry leader at Illinois State University and have her organize a prayer vigil as well. Myself, my family and my church will be in prayer as well.
With heartfelt emotion.

Having a daughter in college, I am reminded throughout the day to pray for our college students worldwide and in particular for all those at VTech. My desire is that they will seek Him in this time of questioning.

Dear Crusaders,
I will pray today with my husband and my bible study in Fort Collins, CO.
I am a grandmother of 12. My oldest granddaughter is college-bound in two years.
My heart aches for the family, friends, staff, and college ministers at Virginia Tech. I pray for
God to bless this community and bring a spirit of revival and renewal. I pray for the Wind of the Spirit to move across this country and purify the hearts, minds and spirits of all of us as we
pray and petition heaven for his mercy and grace.
Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
In Jesus’ Love,
Carolyn Anna

I pray for CCC at Va Tech, that God may use them and other campus ministries at this time to be a light in the darkness, to provide comfort where there is depair, hope where there is hopelessness. May this bring a revivial on the Va Tech campus and bring thousands to a knowledge of Him. We pray for the victims, families, and friends who’s lives will never be the same. God bless you all.

We have been praying and will continue to do so fervently for many days to come. Thank you for this wonderful outreach to Christians all over the world to pray for those involved in this tragedy. PLEASE don’t forget to pray for the thousands of South Korean Christian students who are studying in U.S. universities. We have received an e-mail from our “adopted” Korean family who are studying and teaching at Penn State and they are very afraid of repercussions on the S. Korean community. They are even afraid to let the children play outside or go out to dinner. The Korean news agencies (via the Web) are broadcasting news that has caused them to fear discrimination or even more. Do PRAY for them all. God can turn this tradegy into a harvest of souls for His glory.

There is so much we don’t understand about this senseless tradgedy.
But no matter what happens around us, God always makes sense and he will
help us through this. Be assured of my prayers for all the grieving families
that have lost loved ones. I pray for comfort and peace for all them.
