Today as I sit at my computer, I shed tears for young people who are no longer with us. For all who grieve, I
grieve with you. This tragedy affects
us all. My prayer is that God will comfort you. Stay close to Him and to
your friends. It is somehow easier to
bear when you have someone who shares your loss. A Grandmother from Mississippi.

Dear students, families and friends and staff at VT,
I am praying for all of you that Almight God our Father will be very present to you, comforting, strengthening and healing you in the days, months and years ahead. I pray each of you will come to know the love of His Son, Jesus, and accept Him as your Savior. He says "Come unto Me all you that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." Matt 11:28-30

Campus Crusade for Christ at Brookdale Community College in NJ will be praying for you.
We love you.

My heart grieves with you. We are CCC alumni and will always be part of the "family". We will pray on Thursday, and will mobilize as many others to pray as we can. God is not the author of evil, but He is the only one who can bring peace, healing, and glory to himself through tragedy. Our prayers have been with you all since we heard of it.

I am praying for the students and their families to find comfort in the Lord. I am also praying that God will use this heartbreaking tragedy for good and that many more people will come to know Him through it.

God bless you all.

My brother Tim is director of Cru at Penn State and I want you all at Tech to know my family is praying for all of you. This is your campus's worst tragedy ever but with God's grace and love you will carry on and show the world Gods love. God bless you all. And may Gods peace be in your hearts.

Our precious brothers and sisters in Christ:

As the Youth Pastor at the Chinese Christian Chruch of Greater Albany, I want you to know that our youth, their families and many other followers around the country have been and will continue to lift you and the entire VT Campus up to our gracious Heavenly Father.

We're already certain that, out of this, God is going to raise up an "army" of disciples at VT in response to the work of the evil one.

May God's love, peace and presence surround and fill you with the joy of knowing that He is still in control and, out of the ashes of this gut-wrenching experience, His glory will shine brighter than ever before.

In the assurance of His love,

Phil Woodrow

I've been praying for you all. My dad's on CCCI staff and he sent me the first post from this site. We're praying and if I could be there to walk some students through the grieving process I would be there. The Lord will use this for his glory, somehow. Thanks for being in the thick of it.

Dear Friends at Virginia Tech,

My heart is broken for you all and I wanted to let you know that I've been praying continuously since I learned from a co-worker what was happening on campus. I will certainly continue those prayers on Thursday and well beyond. I also requesed prayer from my team and my leaders. Feeling inadquate to help, I'm sure prayer is the only immeidate thing (and I'm sure the best thing)that we can do to support you. Please know you are being lifted up and that we are pleading with God to wrap His arms around you and provide the peace and healing that only He can.

I also hope it encourages you to know that in a business luncheon I attended today, nearly 500 business people, government agency employees, and political figures began the invocation by praying for you. You are clearly top of mind for us all.

Definitely praying for you all. I keep thinking that it is only the love of Christ and the foundation on the Lord which never shakes that will get us through deep grief.

To Cynthia and Paul and all the dear ones at VT - our prayers are with you and we are confident in God's presence with you. We cannot comprehend this sad event, but commit all you are doing for the students, faculty, staff, administration and extended VT family to the Lord. God bless and keep you.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ at VT,

Please know that the staff here at Here's Life Inner City, Los Angeles have been holding you in prayer ever since hearing of the tragedy on Monday morning. Many tears have been shed and prayers for comfort and peace for you all and the family at VT. May God be lifted up in the midst of this time of great pain and sorrow...His mercies are deep and His love complete.

I am from Saint Louis, Missouri. As soon as I heard the news, I began to pray and will continue to pray for those affected by this tragedy. Also, a co-worker and I have joined together in prayer; and I will share this information with her. I will also pray that the Lord will give you wisdom as you seek to comfort those who are in unimaginable grief and pain. May the Lord send his grace, comfort, and peace in extraordinary ways through the Campus Crusade Staff there at Virgina Tech and throughout the nation. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

My wife and I lead Intercessory Prayer at our church in Charleston, SC, and we have two neices that will be graduating from VT next month. We have been in prayer since the announcement of the tragedy. Our prayer group will continue to lift up the familes and students of VT as they go through the healing process. This Saturday, April 21 our prayer group will have an hour prayer session where we seek God's heart for this situation.

We have been praying for these students and families. With incidents like this, it surely can help Americans see that there is evil, there is sin in this world and we all need Someone larger than ourselves.

After this tragic incident happened, I'm sure everyone has lots to say. I hope people don't start to be racist, because I heard some students started to discuss about the race of the killer. I'm hoping that people are more aware and take others seriously. When someone is depressed, anxious, or in any emotional distress, people around him or her would take it seriously. Offer help or offer to seek resources.
Let us pray for one another seriously, because we're created and loved by God. We can prevent many people from suicide or killing others. What do you think?

Greetings from Tacoma, WA.

My prayers are not only for those who are grieving the loss of loved ones and friends, and those who are walking with a friend or loved one through the recovery process, but also for members of the Korean community who are feeling an overwhelming sense of shame and responsibility for what happened. Our hearts also go out to you, and our prayers for healing and restoration go to God on your behalf. May He be glorified in the demonstration of unity in the Body of Christ, and the outpouring of love to those who do not yet know Him.

.....what can I say??? My heart goes out to all that have lost a loved one and I pray that God will reveil himself in a special way to all the families.....it really shows me that we all need to be ready to leave at anytime and it lets my heart burn even more to reach the lost people around me with the good news from God, that wants to bless us with eternal life. Let our hearts be passionate to reach the people with Gods love on a daily basis.

Please know that I am praying for the entire Virginia Tech community and family and friends. This tragedy feels especially personal to me because I'm a Tech graduate. In fact, Campus Crusade there was instrumental in my coming to Christ in Feb 1979 (I graduated in '78). Thank you for being there for the students and staff. May the Lord use this horrible incident to draw you all closer to Him and be an even stronger warrior for Him.
God bless you all.

I have been praying...and will continue to pray for those grieving the loss of loved ones and friends. I am praying also for Cho's family; may they be surrounded by the love of Christ. Words cannot convey the empathy and support that overflows for all at VA Tech. Thank you, Campus Crusade, for directing our focus to our risen Lord! Let us not be overcome by evil...in His power there is abundantlife.

Our staff team at Melbourne University here in Australia is praying for Virginia Tech. Our campus ministry here has been born out of Virginia Tech (our partnering campus), and several stinters on my team are mourning with you, as they too are Hokies.

We are here, on the other side of the world, praying for each other, praying for you. Australian students are praying for you. We are hoping to gather the Virginia Tech community that is studying abroad here this semester within the next day so that we can be praying, grieving, and reaching out together.

Our hearts are deeply moved and we stand here holding on to the hope we have in Christ - together with you.

In God's comfort,

28 years ago, I lived on campus and participated in CCCI prayer teams, Bible Study and Summer Projects. I have sat insulated for these many years not thinking this kind of tragedy could not possibly touch this ministry and yet in this time it has happened. Lord God of Glory and utmost love, prepare and strengthen the hearts of the campus staff and students at VT for what has happened and what is to come. Bless them as they go forward as Warriors in your Name.

Our youth ministry will pray with and for the VT campus on Thursday night. Tragedy is not uncommon in this community these days and our students are ready to take action.

Are thoughts and prayers go out to each person impacted by this evil event, but God be glorified in all that transpires from here on out.

Dear Heavenly Father
Thank you for all the times of Joy that you have given with those that are no longer with us on this earth. Father i ask that you bring comfort and peace to those that grieve the loss of loved ones to this tragedy. Father help us to forgive the one that has caused so much pain in our lives. Help us to celebrate life rather than grieve it. It says in your word that 'Hatred stirs up strife, but Love covers all offenses. (proverbs 10:12)' So Father help us to Love because Love is the greatest or all and You are a God of Love.

All this I pray in the Powerful Name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.

May God Change your world today.

Words are not adequate at this time. But know that I have been praying and will continue to pray for you.

May Gods love, peace, mercy, grace and powerful presence be real to you at this time through Jesus.

My tears and prayers are poured out for those who have experienced a tremendous loss. I ached to see these young lives gone in an instant and the suffering that parents, family, and friends have to go through.

How much we need a Savior! He gives us the peace and comfort that no one can give. My prayer is that this tragedy will turn many to the loving salvation of Christ. He is our only Hope.

I have been praying for the families at VT and will join the Body of Christ tomorrow in prayer. As a former staff member my hearts bleeds for the students at VT, but I am grateful for your continued ministry on campus.
God will indeed take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it into Good. To God be the glory!

Nothing is impossible with God.
Don't give up on God, draw close to him and he will draw close to you in this time of hardship, loss, and tragedy. My prayers and the prayers of my classmates in Christ will be with you on this day. We pray that you'll be comforted by the ultimate comforter and know that you're not alone.

Our staff has been burdened and praying for all of those those impacted by this tragedy.

We saw how God moved through our community as a result of the Columbine High School tragedy and how the effects rippled throughout our state, nation, and world. His Holy spirit rides the ripples!

The tragedy at V. T. impacts so many more communities all at once and we will pray that the many simultaneous ripples will carry with them the hope of God's faithfulness and love.

I appreciate the ministry of Campus Crusade. Thanks for mobilizing the faith of so many!

My Heart cries for all of families who lost their love ones. Only Jesus's mercy, grace, love, peace, and yes forgivness can heal the pain that is with all of you right now. Seek him with all your heart, mind, and soul. He is waiting with open arms to comfort you, be with you, never ever will he leave you.

I embrace each of you with my thoughts and pray that you be surrounded by comfort, companionship and love as you try to understand that day your world changed. Take strength in friends, in family, in knowing that strangers all over the world are praying for your comfort and your loss and your peace and return to each other and the world tenfold the love that was taken away in a split second each and every moment you breathe. God bless each and every one of you.

I pray for you when the news comes on, and that's quite often. I pray God gives His peace that passes all understanding because this tragedy is beyond understanding. I pray you find comfort in His loving arms. He weeps as we do. He knows our pain. Only He can grow something beautiful from such tragedy.

I too, have been praying for the entire VT campus as well the families of the the victims. This is such a horrific tragedy that it is hard to wrap my mind around it. I am an elementary teacher in Alleghany County, Virginia. My students range in age from 4 to 10...I teach computers. One of my 5th grade classes used maroon and orange markers to paint VT's on their faces (and mine!) to show support for all at Tech. They want to do something but don't know what. I told them that in this time of grief we are all Hokies. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

May God Bless you with His comforting Love,

I want you to know that all students, staff teams and families of Korea Campus Crusade for Christ are praying for you who are related to this tragedy, especially those staff and students of VA who lost their disciples and friends. I am sheding tears now but strongly believe that our Lord Jesus, the healer, comfortor, counsellor, and savior will wipe up all our tears and work for the goodness of those who are now trobuled and suffered and experiencing loss.I pray the glory of our Lord would be prevailing in the midst of everything, including this teerible tragedy. Remember you are in our heart.

My family and I are praying for all the families and friends of those who were killed or wounded in this terrible tradgedy, and we will join in the special time of prayer on Thursday. We can't comprehend the horror and loss, but we know the One who can, and He is able to sustain you even in this. There is no evil so large that God's purposes are not larger still. Even if His purposes are beyond our finite minds to comprehend, we can trust in the One whose thoughts and ways are higher than ours.

With much love and prayer,

our prayer is that all the victims is this tragedy be blessed with a great deal of faith to help in the healing process. We all grieve with you. Let's hope some of the gun laws will change. No person under the age of thirty should be free to purchase arms of any kind. We should do all in our power to promote peace, not violence of any kind. Show compassion for one another, no matter what others look like. Now the media will milk all the pictures of the killer, we do not neerd to see all this stuff, it in itself can be harmful to all of us. I speak from the bottom of my heart because I feel overwhelmed with it all for the families involved.God bless us one and all

It is really a hard time. I feel my heart has broken for the lost ones, and I pray that our God's mercy and comfort pouring onto those parents and families. Let the hurt ones be in our God Father's comfort arm. May your healing be with those who witness and still alive. In Jesus we pray

Our Grandson is a VT resident student. He came home to his parents last night and spent some quality time with them grieving with tears and prayer. Today he went to a mall with his VT shirt on. Numerous people approached him to offer their condolences. He was struck by the sincere care these people showed.

This tragedy has effected the nation, inspiring tenderness toward each other, and to God. Could this be the begining of a national revival? We are examining our own hearts.

And at the end of your prayer for these students and their families - follow it with a prayer for the soldiers and sailors and their families for facing tragedy as a way of life, and the police and the firefighters who put their lives on the line every day for our safety, and then a prayer for the leaders of our country for the courage to lead us with the strength and power of God leading them.
For only with God in the lead will we all survive together.

Our 7th and 8th Grade girls have been meeting and studying through Ben Jennings' book on "The Arena of Prayer". Tonight, we put what we have been learning into practice as we prayed for the families affected by the VT tragedy. We prayed for God's comfort and peace to surround the families and friends who have lost loved ones and for those who survived. God's blessings were asked to be poured out and for His protection as well.
May God work through this situation and draw others to Himself for the strength they need. And may His servants be empowered to minister to those in need.

May God work through this situation and draw others to Himself for the strength they need. And may His servants be empowered to minister to those in need.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. "God is close to the brokenhearted." He will comfort you with His peace, not as the world gives peace. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

God bless you all, you will be in my prayers.

There is nothing I can say at a time like this, but there is one thing I can do and that is to pray. I do not know you, but God does. He knows your every need and I pray that He will meet it. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I am sure He has a plan to make something good come out of this that was meant for evil. I hope you are blessed by the millions of prayers people are sending your way. There is power in prayer. "Look to the stars, to the greatness God has. Therein lies comfort, therein lies strength. Therein lies peace."

We are grieving with all the community of Blacksburg and the community of VT. Our hearts and prayers are with you and we fervently pray that the Lord will send His Spirit upon you and that he will raise up a mighty army of believers from this tragedy - for what man intends for evil, the Lord will use for good. Thank you for ministering to those in need.

I just looked at the beautiful faces of the victims. People of all ages, race, nationality, sex, fathers, sons, mothers daughters, wives, and husbands.

To the family and friends of the victims, I am so sorry and I pray and cry for your loss.

I will be praying. Also forwarding an email from familylife to my family and friends. There are several people in my family who are not Christians but this has caused me to be bold in my words -mostly with comforting words of scripture. 2 cor 4:8 "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed... Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
God will not abandon or destroy us. There is a hope and a future for us...

My heart just aches for the grief you are engulfed by right now. I was a teacher in Fairfax County--where the shooter and several of the victims are from--during 9/11, the anthrax scare, and the sniper attacks. There's been so much heartache over the years.

Please know that all of the students, faculty, staff, and families affected are ever-present in our thoughts and prayers right now. I will be joining in the day of prayer tomorrow from Honolulu, Hawaii. May God's peace surround and sustain you through this.

Peace to you,

My heart and prayers go out to all who died. Even Cho. The thing that tears my heart up the most is that if this kid would have came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ this never would have happened. I pray that this is a wake up call for all half-hearted Christians and to people who do not know Jesus Christ as their PERSONAL Lord ans Saviour.... We are not gureented the next minute. I pray even now at my computer that the Christians would stand up and be bold and wittness the their fellow classmates and at the same time share the joy of Christ to the lost. How many died that did not know Jesus? Thats what breaks my heart. I have lost family and know the pain.. but can rejoice in knowing I will see them again one day in heaven. Christians....... STAND UP. I love each and every one of you and will be praying for you.. ROMANS 10:9 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your HEART that God raised Him from the dead YOU SHALL BE SAVED!!!!

May God give His comfort and bring good out of this tragedy. Lean hard upon Him; He is a present help in times of trouble, and He promises to supply your needs and heal your broken hearts.
Tomorrow, in our Bible study of 12 women in their 80's and 90's, at Westminster Village in Dover,DE we will be praying for VT students and families.

I am saddened by this event. I will be praying as requested for everyone who was involved. I think we should also be praying for the family of the student who did this. They are hurting as well. May the Lord be with you all.

Eastern Kentucky University has you all in our prayers. Be encouraged when you remember that God is so big that he will bring beauty out of such grief.

My prayers, and I'm sure those of my co-workers whom I'm about to send an e-mail to, will be lifted for all the families impacted by this terrible tragedy. The name of my workplace prayer chain, GILAIC...God Is Large And In Charge, says it best!

No matter what evil is thrown our way, we have a God who is still speaking in this time. The nails couldn't hold Christ to the cross nor can this tragedy silence the voices of believers around this world! May the families who are grieving rest in the palm of the Almighty's comforting hand. May they know there are sisters and brothers in extended communities holding them up, bearing their pain, and loving them through.
