grieve with you. This tragedy affects
us all. My prayer is that God will comfort you. Stay close to Him and to

Dear Friends at Virginia Tech,

My heart is broken for you all and I wanted to let you know that I’ve been praying continuously since I learned from a co-worker what was happening on campus. I will certainly continue those prayers on Thursday and well beyond. I also requesed prayer from my team and my leaders. Feeling inadquate to help, I’m sure prayer is the only immeidate thing (and I’m sure the best thing)that we can do to support you. Please know you are being lifted up and that we are pleading with God to wrap His arms around you and provide the peace and healing that only He can.

I also hope it encourages you to know that in a business luncheon I attended today, nearly 500 business people, government agency employees, and political figures began the invocation by praying for you. You are clearly top of mind for us all.

My wife and I lead Intercessory Prayer at our church in Charleston, SC, and we have two neices that will be graduating from VT next month. After this tragic incident happened, I’m sure everyone has lots to say. I hope people don’t start to be racist, because I heard some students started to discuss about the race of the killer. I’m hoping that people are more aware and take others seriously. When someone is depressed, anxious, or in any emotional distress, people around him or her would take it seriously. Offer help or offer to seek resources.
Let us pray for one another seriously, because we’re created and loved by God. We can prevent many people from suicide or killing others. What do you think?

28 years ago, I lived on campus and participated in CCCI prayer teams, Bible Study and Summer Projects. I have sat insulated for these many years not thinking this kind of tragedy could not possibly touch this ministry and yet in this time it has happened. Thank you for all the times of Joy that you have given with those that are no longer with us on this earth. Father i ask that you bring comfort and peace to those that grieve the loss of loved ones to this tragedy. Father help us to forgive the one that has caused so much pain in our lives. Help us to celebrate life rather than grieve it. It says in your word that ‘Hatred stirs up strife, but Love covers all offenses. (proverbs 10:12)’ So Father help us to Love because Love is the greatest or all and You are a God of Love.

Our staff has been burdened and praying for all of those those impacted by this tragedy.

We saw how God moved through our community as a result of the Columbine High School tragedy and how the effects rippled throughout our state, nation, and world. His Holy spirit rides the ripples!

I too, have been praying for the entire VT campus as well the families of the the victims. This is such a horrific tragedy that it is hard to wrap my mind around it. I am an elementary teacher in Alleghany County, Virginia. My students range in age from 4 to 10…I teach computers. One of my 5th grade classes used maroon and orange markers to paint VT’s on their faces (and mine!) to show support for all at Tech. They want to do something but don’t know what. I told them that in this time of grief we are all Hokies. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

our prayer is that all the victims is this tragedy be blessed with a great deal of faith to help in the healing process. We all grieve with you. Let’s hope some of the gun laws will change. No person under the age of thirty should be free to purchase arms of any kind. We should do all in our power to promote peace, not violence of any kind. Show compassion for one another, no matter what others look like. Our Grandson is a VT resident student. He came home to his parents last night and spent some quality time with them grieving with tears and prayer. Today he went to a mall with his VT shirt on. Numerous people approached him to offer their condolences. He was struck by the sincere care these people showed.

This tragedy has effected the nation, inspiring tenderness toward each other, and to God. Could this be the begining of a national revival? We are examining our own hearts.

Our 7th and 8th Grade girls have been meeting and studying through Ben Jennings’ book on “The Arena of Prayer”. Tonight, we put what we have been learning into practice as we prayed for the families affected by the VT tragedy. There are several people in my family who are not Christians but this has caused me to be bold in my words -mostly with comforting words of scripture. 2 cor 4:8 “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed… Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

The thing that tears my heart up the most is that if this kid would have came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ this never would have happened. No matter what evil is thrown our way, we have a God who is still speaking in this time. The nails couldn’t hold Christ to the cross nor can this tragedy silence the voices of believers around this world!
