A Call to Prayer
In times like these we desperately need God - we need God to meet with us, to comfort us, and to give us perspective. We need to look heavenward to the One who can give grace and pour out His mercy in our time of need.
In view of this, the leadership of Campus Crusade for Christ invites you to join together sometime this Thursday in a concerted gathering to call on God. Perhaps you could invite others in your community to join together with the staff, students, alumni, and laypeople throughout our country to call on the Lord to work in this very difficult situation.
I also think it would be an incredible testimony and blessing to the Virginia Tech community to know there has been such an outpouring of love demonstrated by prayer.
So if God is leading you to join us, would you mind leaving a comment to let us know that you are joining us in prayer? Would you let us know the location (city, state) you will be praying and leave an encouraging note for our Campus Crusade for Christ community at Virginia Tech?

Just to let you know that you are appreciated and we are concerned. Know also that the Lord will not leave you comfortless. neither will he leave you without a testimony.

Just wanted to say My heart is still just breaking over this. As I look at the faces and read the descriptions of these victims, I am just overwhelmed with how much I know God cares and loves them, and how much he loves their friends and family. To him they are not just names on a crawl on CNN or a faded headline long forgotten, but real beautiful lives and he created. Each life mattered so much to him that he went to the cross. I pray so much that each had the chance to say yes to His gift of salvation. I pray so much for the families of those victims that as support wanes with each passing day God’s comfort and peace will grow ever stronger.
Thanks Crusade for all the work you do on campuses everywhere. You certainly helped me get a strong foundation when I first went to Michigan State. I have no doubt you will continue to be used by the LORD to have his message boldy proclaimed at VT in the coming semesters.

Let us not only learn from this terrible act of unjustice that regardless of what we see portrayed of the cross, and what may seem to be our thoughts of HIM, we still have to search to find the blessings that Jesus gives to us. And the only way to find those blessings are by sending God our whole hearts with trust and faith. Let us be willing to accepts God’s True Love.

I just want to say that My heart and prayers will always be with every VT student and I will be praying for peace among us all. I had the chance to meet with a good friend of Lauren McCain and I feel like I know her from all the Good things that were mention of her. God will use her even better as she smiles down on all her christain brothers and sisters. May all the familys of each student know that their love ones are not forgotten.

read the tragedy and am distured by the happenings. It is faith shaking at this moment and thousand of questions may flood one’s mind but knowing that GOD created this universe and all things belong to HIM comforts us.He gives; he takes revenge; he protects.
What can one say except to trust in HIM who is the beginning and the end. GOD BLESS

My heart goes out to all students, faculty, family members. How a seemingly ordinary day can turn into a day that can change one forever. I do know that God can heal wounded minds, bodies, spirits if we are open. We don’t understand why some of these things happen. But I am touched forever by the testimony of one of the victims. She didn’t have to argue about her stand for Jesus, because she KNEW Him. What a simple, yet profound statement! That is my goal to KNOW the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!God bless and touch each one at Virginia Tech.

Please know that I have been praying for healing during this time. May we not stop praying. The moment we stop praying is the moment the evil one tries to step in. In Jesus’ name may all evil get out and stay out of your school, homes and campus. Also remember Jesus already won at the cross. Blessings, Grace

Dear Ones at Cru,
My heart goes out to you all. Our church had a prayer service on the Thursday after the tragedy and we all prayed for the victims, their families and for the Christians at VT.
Only the Man of Sorrows can truly understand your pain and is with you in it. Cry to Jeusus! He understands and longs to comfort you. Don’t be afraid to weep and mourn. You are safe in Him.
Wishing you deep peace and comfort in the Holy Spirit,
With love, Stephanie Reed

Hello all, It’s the end of April, a few but so many days after the event. I have been praying for each student, faculty member and staff person that works with you. May God wrap and protect your minds, hearts and souls with the knowledge of His goodness and the power of His love. Many stand with you in prayer as you process the loss and horrific sadness on campus. May God give you fond memories and reminders of His grace to comfort your hearts and assure your souls of His steadfast mercy. God, be the BIG GOD of the universe in their lives today. Susan

Words can’t be enough to express how sorry I am for all the suffering this senseless tragedy has caused. I believe God loves us and he is saddened by all the tears his people and children are sheading. I will continue to pray for healing, comforting and peace to all affected by this tragedy.

Just always remember that God is our light and only he knows the reason for all of this. Look to Christ and through him all things are possible even when it seems to be to big to ask for or recieve.

To all those who have been touched by this horrific tragedy…
My heart and prayers go out to all of you in this most difficult time. My heart shattered when I watched the tragedy unfold on the TV news, and I began to pray right then, and am still praying today for God’s presence, comfort, love, healing, and peace to be showered upon all of you continually today and in all the days to come. I grieve with you and my heart aches deeply for all you have had to endure. May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding be with and in you today and always. May you feel God’s presence and love more intensely than you ever have before. As you can see by all those who have left messages here, you are being lifted in prayer 24/7 all around the world, so I pray you can feel the power of those prayers daily. May God give you all that you need to sustain and strengthen you through the coming months and years. I hope that the healing God has begun in each of you will grow exponentially each day and that you can/will lean on one another, hug each other, cry with each other, whatever you need to make it through each hour, each day, etc. May God’s abundant blessings flow over VT and their families like a soothing & healing waterfall of His Grace, Mercy and Love today and always.
With heartfelt sympathy and prayers always,
Care Hitchcock

I will be joining many others tomorrow in prayer for you and your campus. Over 25 years ago my church in Texas experienced the same tragedy you have. I am a survivor! That is what we are…Survivors. Those that have gone ahead of us are Heroes and will be remembered as such. The Lord has continued to heal me all these years and I am praying He will do the same and more for you. The Lord’s forgiveness is more powerful than any weapon leveled at us. I encourage those of you who know Christ as your Savior to look to Him and His Word for your healing and spread the good news… the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

My husband, sons (ages 10 and 12) and I have been praying daily since last Monday.
We pray for the Lord’s peace and comfort for the families and friends who have lost dearly loved ones.
We are also praying that the Lord would be glorified in this situation and that many would come to know Him as a result.
