Visit to IDP Camp & Jesus Film
This is Amber (hi everybody/anybody at home reading this!) Yesterday a group of us made it off the compound and into an IDP camp for the first time. We handed out 300 bags of food and hygiene kits before we showed the Jesus Film. It was heartwarming, at the same time that it was heartbreaking, to see the people get so excited to get food, one woman was dancing with the bag of food on her head. Bethany shared her testimony with a crowd of about 200. About 50 raised their hand to show their desire to follow Christ.
While they set up the film, we had free time to mingle with the people in the camp. Some started kicking around a soccer ball with the kids. The kids would grab our hands and fight with each other to get a turn to dance with us. I had some fun with a group of kids and a camera, they loved seeing themselves on the screen. It was so precious to see the smiles and the laughter coming from kids who have so little.
